Ok i bought all this stuff to make my high/mids as loud as my bass (2 12's on 1500 rms). I installed everything perfectly and got the approval from people on this site. But idk what it is it just sounds like ****. Not loud at all and horrendous sound quality. At loud volumes its super scratchy and washed out sounding. IMO sounded better with stock speakers running off the HU and peoples stock audio systems are louder lol. I just dont understand. Yes i have set gains correctly and i have played around with all the HU settings. Any ways I want a setup with more power. So i need recomendations. Im more concerned with volume then sound quality but i want decent sound quality. Do i need a new amp? New door speakers? Price range is 300$. My current setup is below.

Hifonics Zeus ZXi 683 (ZXi683) 6" x 8" 3-way Car Speakers, 6x8 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7377_Hifonics-Zeus-ZXi-683.html#tabs)
Clarion XR2410 400W, XR Series 4-Channel Amplifier (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22478_Clarion-XR2410.html)
JVC Arsenal KD-AHD65 CD receiver at Crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDAHD65/JVC-Arsenal-KD-AHD65.html?tp=5684)

Also dont try to use all my 300$ haha. For example if all i need is a more powerful amp that pushes out more watts then just say that rather then suggesting new speakers too just because i have money left over. Im basicly trying to do this as cheaply as possible.

well its ur speakers

really? The reviews for them are great tho. So what kind of speakers do i need? Ones with better rms ratings? Speakers other then 6x8's? Explain haha

If it is indeed my speakers heres what im thinking: buying a nice set of speakers for the front then bridging the clarion amp to those speakers and just having no speakers in the back.

amps rated at 60 rms tho? Speakers 85 i think. Also i tried bridging the amp to the two front speakers to get 100 rms a piece and it didnt sound much different...

So i should get speakers first? Or a better amp since you said the speakers are underpowered?

i would get a amp then buy speakers that go with ur amp..but if u just keep the amp find some speakers around the rms on the amp

So then im looking for speakers that take the same rms the amp puts out? Because i have heard so many things like you have the amp has to be double the rms of the speaker and stuff lol. But getting new speakers would make it louder and improve sound quality? Or just improve sound quality?

well depends on what speakers your looking at

Alrite to be honest this whole speaker thing is confusing me. Im looking on sonic electronics and none of the 6x8's on there take more than 100 rms. I mean if i bought speakers that take 100 rms and matched them with a 100 rms amp would that extra 30 rms even be that much louder?

yeah a lil..im not saying you have to have the same rms just around the same

dont even look at 6x8 speakers ,get components instead .make 6x8 plates to fit the mids in the doors.then you can install the tweets higher to get a better sound.

Well the 60 rms or whatever the amp is puttin out now is not even louder than the HU so i have a hard time dropping another 300 into another amp and better speakers if there only gona be a little louder. I just want my mids and highs to be louder than my bass. What do people use for mids/highs when they have like 4 18's? Also i see soo many people with selenium horns that i can hear from blocks away.. Are those worth looking into?

you might not have ur settings right? idk why stock would be louder..it must be the speakers

haha trust me man i have tried adjusting EVERY setting on the amp and the head unit. Considering getting a nice set of speakers up front then bridging the clarion to them and having no speakers in the back...

well, as far as amps, to get loud you need 100 watts or better. I was looking and found this ID i2600 for like $170...less than 1/2 price than anywhere else for that kind of quality power:
Image Dynamics i2600 2-Channel Class AB i Series Car Amplifier (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_37930_Image-Dynamics-i2600.html) ...I am seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these myself. You could run the gain conservative if you think it is too much power, but it takes power to get loud and sound good too. I found these PPI convertibles for reasonable too..it is hard to find a decent set with soft dome tweets and rated to take the power for less than $160+ bucks:
Precision Power PPI A2.65C (A265C) 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Speaker System (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24362_Precision-Power-PPI-A2.65C.html)

Did you double check your wiring to make sure nothing is out of phase?

A Hifonics coaxial speaker? I understand that you don't want to spend a lot of money, but IMO, you got exactly what you paid for..

If you run 1500watts to a dual subwoofer sub stage, don't think a set of cheap coaxial speakers will be able to keep up with their SQ or SPL of your sub stage..
If you want to have a balanced sound system, spend as much on your front stage as you spent on the sub stage. Subwoofers are cheap anyways and dime a dozen. You can get have great SQ with a $100 subwoofer. The front speakers on the other hand will cost you a lot more if you want SQ and SPL
.

There are a few decent oval speakers:

Hybrid Audio Mirus coaxial speaker (the 5x7 version, this is based on the popular Hybrid Audio Imagine line woofer)
JL Audio C5-570x coaxial speaker
JL Audio C5-570 component version of the same
Image Dynamics XS-57

If these are not satisfactory, look into components with round woofers. One good example is Massive Audio CK6 series, though you probably want to budget >100watts channel for these. A lot of people have been praising recently JBL's MS-series MS-62C speakers, and being priced at under $200 these should be a good value based on reviews.

I wana get both of these but need to save some of my money so i have to choose one then buy the other in a month or so. Which should i get first? Im thinking the components then bridging my clarion to them for 100 rms until i can get the better amp?

There is nothing wrong with your amplifier! You're going to be wasting money if you replace that.

You might need more speakers to keep up with your subwoofers if you don't want to turn the bass down. In the mean time, I would first look to make sure you don't have your EQ boosted way up, try turning the gains down a bit, and I would check out your music to make sure it isn't highly compressed and/or clipping. A lot of music is produced to sound very loud, and any boosts on your EQ settings could make that worse.
