$280

that would require a psu upgrade plus its just too $$$ and good for what I need... A EVGA 260-216 would be perfect cheap and can play a good amount of games yet not require psu upgrades...

Yeah no problem. If you want to talk PC hardware, that was my main hobby before I got heavily involved in guns and then audio. I've been a little out of the loop for awhile but if you have building questions I have built more than a few desktops. Glad to help out.

Gotcha. I upgraded to a HD 6850 around December only to barely play any games on the PC. The 4850 could still play Crysis 1, STALKER and The Old Republic really well. I just wanted the 6850 for more power!

Yea i think the 460 would be a nice one to keep for a min for the games i play. Plus at 85 bucks shipped cant really beat it. Hell I though 260-216's still went for $100 but they go for like $55 bucks on evga.com/forum

BFG GTX 260 Maxcore 55
896 GDDR3
still a $200+ GPU

im open to trades or cash
never installed, ripped the sealed tape on it to inspect it, but thats it. think at one point maybe i was going to install it in a new PC build, but went with my current xfire setup.

I would do a even trade for an SA 8 V2 (worth a try)
or interested in any SA products or 6.5 component set, or ALOT sound deadener (Hummer H2 has alot of sq ft)

Do a quick search the 260-216 was a whole tier above the 9800..9800 was to go with 4850 the 260 was to go with the 4870.

No that means it factory overclocked which does not make it any better then a reg 9800 as u can just overclock the reg card to the gtx's.

the 98xx series was comparable to the ATI 48xx series, but at the time ATI was producing a better GPU. more powerful, and when used in x-fire, would walk all over the nvidia cards.

when Nvidia came out with thier new line..iirc was the GT 160ish or something, thats when the market was favoring Nvidia.. i have fallen out of the computer/gaming side, but believe Nvidia has still maintained the upper edge over the ATI cards. this is also when they started pushing the PhysX. about that time is when there was a shift from ATI to Nvidia.

IIRC, the only good thing about the 9800 series was that it was a monster OC-er.. but the cards were far and few between ones you could get a good OC on as opposed to a medicore OC. it mostly turned out it was better to just buy a decent card from the get go.. but then you have the die hards who WC, and Phase cool that push things to its limits.

so you are saying that the 4850's and the 4870's didnt walked all over Nvidia at the time of thier release, and the time afterwards until nvidia responded with the GTX series?
ATI blew nvidia out of the water on most benchmarks, and actual performance with these cards.. hence why i have been running 2 4870's in Xfire instead of running the nvidia card i had?

it is the same thing when comparing AMD to Intel...
one CPU will be better than the competitions.. the the competition will make a better one and it goes back and forth.

im sure this can be applied easily to the car audio market as well.
you may not agree with it, but it still doesnt change the fact that at the time the products were made, they were better than anythign else on the market at the time.
