Story of my truck goes like this, I bought it new late in 2006 when i was still in high school, Got a 6 inch lift 2 weeks later with 35 inch tires, Installed a kicker solo x 10 sub that fit under the back seat, had that for a couple years until it was stolen out of my truck, i replaced everything with jl audio amps and a 13tw5 sub that i got a deal on. In may i decided to redo my entire system focusing on sound quality.

Newer Stuff:
I bought an MB Quart fx 1.600 Amp to power two kicker l7 8's in a down firing box, and a MB Quart Fx 4.100 amp to power my components. Up front i with with DLS 6.3 components, and in the rear DLS 4.2 compents. At the time I had no Idea how loud my components would be, I was blown away. The two 8 inch subs were not bad either but I wanted something with a little more thump.

Newest stuff:
Currently I am waiting for two Kicker Solo X 12's and a zx2500.1 amp in the mail (comes on the 8th), so I downloaded the manual and have begun building a New Box and it is a monster! It is 12.6 cubic feet including the port displacement and 58 inches wide. I am half way through building the box, waiting for the glue to dry on what i have done so far. Hope to have everything installed in a weeks time.

On the amp rack that is already there, you cant really see by the pictures but the back of the box is angled up, and it sits 2 inches away from the back wall of the truck at the top, and about 10 at the bottom.

When i still had my back seat in i raised it 2 inches, and managed to get a 2.25 cubic box under it, currently while i wait for my subs to arrive i have box I built for two l7 8's to listen to. My plan is to keep my small one so i can have a little bass if i ever ant to put my back seat in for a trip or something like that.

awesome build so far and i like how you angled the rear of the box to provide space and cooling for the amp rack. when you mounted the amps did you drill through the chassis?

the board is drilled through the chassis, but the screws for the amp do not go through the board, there is about an inch of space behind the amp rack to the back wall as well, for wiring

I built it exactly to kicker's specs for their SUV box, Might be a bit over kill in a truck but we will find out

First picture is of the back of the box, it is upside down

Second picture is on the box completely built minus the bottom, I want to cut the holes out for the subs first since i wont have room to run a jigsaw on the bottom to cut them out

Third is the bottom with the port already to go, just need to cut the holes.

Today's project will be gorilla gluing the inside seams and when that dries, silicon caulking will be added to the joints,

Also going to be in the market for a new alternator, it has a dr44g in it now which is about 145 amps, i want to upgrade to something around 200 amps. Any recommendations on what i should get or if you have anything that would fit i could buy from you would be great. I also have a 200 amp stinger alternator for a ford f250 i could possible trade or sell. also another question, i hear mixed things about capacitors, i have a 10 fared stinger capacitor i bought a few years back, is it worth using?

Had a pretty productive day, worked on sealing my box, did a big 3 upgrade although i only had 4 gauge wire with crimps on it so i just did 2 grounds for now, I got bored and decided to rip out my fat mat from the back wall of my truck which ended up taking about 2 hours just to get the old stuff off which left a black residue, I didnt care much as it was sticky and would make my RAAMMat stick better. Once i had the Back wall covered I then installed Ensolite which cleaned up the back wall very nicely. Since my subs will be down firing i Left the fatmatt on the floor and added Raammat right on top of it followed by ensolite. I recently used Raammat on my doors and was very impressed, i highly recommend it. When i first got a system i did the roof of mt truck with Dynamat so i wont be having to worry about that. I also Put my 8s back in until my subs get here on the 8th

I received my amp and subs in the mail today, I was disappointed to see that Sub woofers described as brandnew and unopened come with stripped out bolts, and used magnets. the screws holding the magnet to the wood template it comes mounted to are so stripped out i cant even get it out. Thanks alot AUDIOSAVINGS ELECTRONICS SUPERSTORE.

Update: Subs are a little underpowered with the single 2500.1 amp, So i ordered another one and will have one for each Solo X 12. I found a battery tray to add another battery as well, now i just need two new batteries, Any recommendations? I also installing another run of power wire to accommodate the extra amp. I will most likely get a new alternator from DC Power Engineering, somewhere along the lines of 300 amps. I have never did an electrical upgrade of this magnitude before so any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated. I was thinking Kinetik batteries but im open to suggestions

I went ahead and ordered this kit:

https://www.dcpowerinc.com/fit/2006~GMC~Sierra~5.3L-V8/gm-and-chevy-vortec-dual-alternator-kit-with-300-amp-spx-series-alternator.html

Currently my box and subs are removed while i redesign the amp rack for 2 of the 2500.1 amps, and run another power wire, to power the monsters
