Here is my original build thread to how i got here:
http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-build-logs-cars-trucks-suvs/462163-small-going-active-build.html

Currently was running:
RF 360.2
Sundown SAE1000 - Original SA8 D4 (from pre-order)
Sundown 100.4d -
Morel MDT12 Tweeters
Usher 8945P 7" Mids

Crossover points:
Sub - 70hz
Mid - 70hz-2250hz

I want to add an SA8 v2 and some Tang Band w3-1364SA 3" Bamboo speakers as mid-range.

Still waiting on some stuff but here is the initial start.

How I plan to modify the enclosure to fit the sub(using fiberglass).

Work starts tomorrow.
I'm pretty excited since I haven't done a build, or modify, in a while. I've been content with the sound.

What are your planned crossover points with the new TB mids?

Going to try 400hz-600hz. Have to get them, mount and test. Lots of testing

Do you mean 400-6000hz?

Right, meant low end would be 400-600hz, top end around 5-6khz

placement is key. aiming will determine how high they will play. if they are off-axis, they may roll-off on their own above 3kHz.

I'm planning 90 off axis about chest height. I could do tweeter 3k also, as long as i can get the vocals higher up since my mid bass is also off axis.

i love xtant, and the 604x is one of my favorite mid/high amps. it's just super clean and sounds amazing. making adjustments is a PITA so external processing is certainly appreciated!

Good to hear. I've had this thing sitting for years. Certainly difficult since it uses sip chips for crossovers, luckily I'm using processing so I'll be by passing them. Can't wait to hear it! I've got an old mtx amp I'm using for tweets, one of my fave amps since its so small and sounds so good

Got my mids and am testing to see what tweeter blends better, in a free air cardboard baffle.

Chose my tweeter and made some mdf ring mounts.
Going to be mounted in the a pillars with sealed enclosures, fiberglassed of course.

Tweeter:Vifa BC25SC06-04 1" Textile Dome Tweeter 264-1028 (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-1028)
After testing a vifa dual ring, and my morel mdt12, this tweeter just outshines, it's somewhat amazing how well it sounds active at around 4.7khz 12db, no e'qing. Also very efficient and needs little power to get loud. Considering the price tag, I almost didnt want to use it because it's so cheap!
Mid:Tang Band W3-1364SA 3" Bamboo Cone Driver 264-844 (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?PartNumber=264-844)
Sounds really good and gets loud. Can't wait to try it in a sealed enclosure.
My planned crossover point for this set it 250hz 24db - 5khz 12db for the mid and tweeter 5khz 12db for the tweeter.

i have the same tweeters. cross them down to 2khz ;) then let your tang's relax a little. could get a bit iffy when they try and play up to the 5khz range even if they are okay to play that high.

edit: just notice dthey are the 3" versions. should do fine up there lol

I have been going back and forth on the bamboos. The 8 ohm is what scared me off, but i dont think it will really matter going active. You guys seems to be crossing them over around 5k, but I see many more using them as a full range? Just install dependent i guess.
