Im thinking i will have to fiberglass the **** out of theis box as my trunk wont be big enough tofit a huge enclosure. I have the 4th ordr in there right now, but its just not quite big enough. I will run the subs on ss rubicons 2500.1s for now. 2 subs per amp (since i dont think the rubi can handle .5 impedence0 questin though, if i strap 2 rubicons together will they run ok if they are strapped at .5 each, but for a total of 1 ohm nominal?? WIll they be ok that way?? Or do i need to just run 2 subs per amp??

Also, how well do you think 4 15s in a sealed enclosure will sound?? Like i said, i wanna have the outside 2 subs on a angle facing forward and kinda facing center trunk, and the center 2 subs facing center of the trunk. I have a 10x10 cut-out in my rear seat that i am also gonna do some fibo work to so in all reality. the cabin will almost act as a ported sectin of a 4th order correct?? Since the 4 subs will be ina sealed box approximetly 8 cubes net

let me know what u guys think about this idea. and if someone wants to kinda sketch something up real quick of what i am putting into words i would appreciate it

Nick

It's a sealed setup so I wouldn't expect to be super loud. I'm sure it would get loud, but probably not as loud as you'd want for four 15s on 5k.

never going to be loud, sometimes less is more, you just dont have enough space to give those susb what they beed which is a ported enclosre. 2 in a ported enclosure will sound louder than the 4 you have sealed, i would sell them all off and get 2 bigger 15's that can handle more power

8 cube box should be plenty for the four woofers sealed.
Yes - a ported enclosure would be louder (over a small bandwidth) but sealed is going to give you a much smoother roll-off over a much larger bandwidth - which is great if you listen to a variety of different types of music.

ok so maybe 2 ported

something like this
\_/

subs on 45 degreee angle facing foward. Have the middle section as a huge kerf port

again are you porting 2 and keeping 2 sealed, not going to work. I have done exactly what you have done before and trust me i ended up goign another route. 4 american bass xfl's on 2 aq2200d, tried to run them ported in a 8 cube box in my trunk and basically had to seal off my trunk and it did not sound good in the cabin, all the sound was staying in the trunk. Its the same premise on why all the big box builders on here always try to talk people with cars out of doing 15's and up because they just dont fit. they always say you will be happier with a pair of 12's in a correctly ported box

yes 2 ported would be much better than trying to fit all 4 in there

What are you basing this on?
The SA-15 has a QTS of 0.65, which would indicate a (large) sealed enclosure would be doable...

Doable yes but i'm basing it on sundowns testing and experience.

yes, i am saying just do 2 ported. I can seal off the rear firewall and just have the 10x10 cut out that i made having all the output come through the cut out. I have them in a 4th order right now but its just so dam big that i have no room for anything else in the trunk. So i am thinking of just doin 2 subs, ported, subs forward, port forward, subs and port facing the 10x10 cut out that i have in the rear firewall . sdealing off the top of the box and having it slide all the way foward up against the rear firewall

I said screww it. I cut the rear firewall out and have the back seat out. I am going to wall off the trunk. firing foward, port foward, sealed off from the trunk. I made my decision. 2 sa 15s in around 6 cf net tuned to 34 hz. Shall the port be in the middle or on one of the sides?? sorrry but there is another thread on this exact topic bercause i forgot i had this one. sorry fellass

i did. 1st attempt at it.

Now im ready to change up a bit. I have vbeen watching ur design for 2 - 15s. I may go with something like that. Just a nice portged enclosure. I really like that last sketch you have in ur thread. IS it similiar to the one Anton built in that red ranger

its sort of close, but his was a tad under 3 cu ft per chamber. if you would like a design pm me or check out mine and catmans website. its the link in my sig.
