Friend got an sa8 about a week ago in the mail. You should read the how to pack a sub sticky if its still here. Hate to see what happens to a sub of this size with bad packing.

Pool noodles around the basket is a good idea but you need something to hold the motor in place too.

^ there is always packaging stuffed tight around the motor. big motors get 2" of foam and plywood in the bottom of the box.
no matter what ups can smash stuff but has only happend 2 time out of all the subs and both times ups falt and they paid. they can ruin anything. did ur buddy get his sub ok because i never heard a complaint or anything...

so like to hear bout the sa8?
it was bagged then pool noodled around the basket and taped over the bag, bout 4-6 extra pieces of cardboard under the motor and brown packaging paper around the motor. what better ya get on a under 20lb subwoofer.
if it was damaged in anyway would send out a replacement so i assume it came to him in perfect order

Both my 15" and my 10" were packaged fine. Corey makes sure they are packaged safely and if there is any damage, he will get it straightened out. BTW, my custom type X 10 is doing serious work in the single cab ranger. :naughty:

As for this guy, I think it's absurd for you to come on to a respected member's thread and say something about a woofer you bought from him that arrived in perfect working order, in a fashion that he need to learn how to package a woofer, because IYO you feel it should've been done different. He obviously knows what he's doin or your woofer wouldn't be pounding.

Do you have 2 of the MT's

Corey shipped my 18 with plenty of foam all around...it's just not necessary on a little sub. Hell my obsidian 12 came with only cardboard on the bottom and it's fine

Yeah I agree, on a small woofer all the excess isn't necessary, I can't see it even possible getting damaged by the way they're stating he packaged it. Like I said, it's dumb to even post it if your woofer arrived in perfect condition. Some people just have to have something to say. But what's up, someone told me this SPLaudio guy is a machinist by trade, does he make dual input blocks for amps
