box for 4 12s

my external deminsions would be 42" x 32" x 10" max would like to go a little smaller if possible. I will be using 3/4" MDF to build to box. If I wanted to tune it to like 30 or 28hz how big would the port need to be. The subs will be in the trunk of my 1997 ford tarus. they will be facing up.

with 1800 watts would I be better off leaving them sealed And if I do that would the be that much louder than my current 2 Ks ported to 30hz running 800 watts.

First, 4 12" wont fit in 42" wide. Second, the gain is less than 2db by porting them (unless my calculations are wrong). Even based on eD's recommendations for a single driver, it only gains 1.5db.

I see about 6 cu/ft inside with your dimensions. With port displacement and drivers, you will need at least a 7cu/ft interior airspace.
