Been here all weekend with customers and whatnot anyway... so decided to drop one in the Jeep real quick. The Jeep hasn't had much love lately and I was using it to haul scrap metal for a while (hence the wooden truck bed) but I decided to break it back out.

One 4500D @ 1 ohm with one extra SPV-70 for battery. My box has a pretty high rise so probably seeing 3-4 ohms or so actual on the amp so not a ridiculous amount of juice yet.

Sub still has a good bit of usable throw remaining. So I guess the next phase is to actually put in a more usable battery setup for multiple amps and use two amps at 0.5 ohm to get the sub to full stroke.

Not sure yet if that will get done today as I've been at the shop way too much recently, haha.

I think 150+ is do-able with it.

Whats your box tuned at? Nice score with a $120 sub

It's my SPL box so peaks at 53 -- tuned around 50.

Okay couldn't resist so I dropped two 2500s in and maxed it out :

That was all she had -- any more and it would leave the gap. So I guess I didn't get my 150 but I'm not too sad over it :)

Yah, probably in the 1600-2000 watt range if I had to guess to max it out... maybe more but I haven't clamped it yet.

The SA-15 held 7,300 watt burps in my box and did a 153.5

So now with this information, what could I get away with power wise on two e15s ported daily tuned a little lower? You might have a new customer lol

We rate / warranty them for 400 RMS -- you can see what a few others guys have done here :

It makes me laugh that you guys build these great subs and rate them at whatever number (which it performs very well at), then just put like, 5k on them for fun and they still hold up. It says a lot about build quality.

sundownz

It's not broken yet -- just made funny noises when I turned it up farther due to the coil leaving the gap.

I haven't done a video yet -- but maybe next week I'll do a quick one.

next up should be the ns-1 lol jk thats a real nice score though for a sub like that!

Haha, well it's out of throw already :)

It would likely do better with less port as this box was made for Nightshade / Z level woofers.

I wasn't easy on it -- it handled leaving the gap as gracefully as one could hope. Just made a few bad noises then went back to playing normally :)

just wondering what would be better spl and daily wise.
having an e15 on roughly 1000 watts
or a sa-15 on roughly 1000 watts
like for score wise would you be better off over powering the e15?

Generally speaking you get very diminishing returns when you start driving speakers way beyond their limits. If you need to run 1KW, IMO get Z series, you couldn't kill them with 1KW if you tried.

BTW, nice showing out of the entry level piece!

Hopefully you aren't disappointed that this woofer is made in China. Of course... there is a BIG difference between paying for the best quality you can get from China and going there to save every penny possible. You can guess which route we went since our cheapest woofer will hold up to something like this.

We will start making 18s in our 1kw line when it launches.
