This build is for my father. He recently had his GTO repainted and decided to redo his interior as well. He asked me what I could do to give him better sound than what was currently in there. He is not looking for anything crazy in there as he'd rather listen to the engine. Here is what we will be using:

Kenwood KDC-X395
Kenwood KAC 1502s & 2404s
Hybrid Audio Imagine 5.25's & 6.5's
Hybrid Audio I6SW
Knukonceptz Wiring
RAAM Audio Sound Damping

Rear deck. Center cut open for sub to vent into cabin. Whoever cut the 6x9 holes used a beaver.

Not very often do you see somebody with the balls to cut up a classic car. I took major crap when I put a full system into my 64 Rambler 440. The people in "Goodguys" just didn't get the joke. The front mount subs in my 72 Chev PU were much more stealth,so much less crap was received. Good on you and your dad.

The passenger side kick is a royal pain in the ***. Best way to be sure it gets smoothed out? Give it to your buddy who is a body man.

Nice, in my 66 GTO I just bought a set of kickpanels that were ready for speakers. I had to find the slimist comps I could find thou. Found a used pair of Kicker KS650's that fit and just cut a hole for the tweet. I didn't want to mess with cutting into the rear deck so made a Tline and mounted the box below the rear deck in the trunk. Still waiting for my amp rack to be built.

My Dad takes it to shows all spring/summer/fall but hardly ever leaves southern CT with it.

Thanks man I know you been following my builds for quite sometime now. I try to do work as it should be, very clean. Makes me sick to see half assed installs.

Started making the trunk panels:

http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/64099_10150711936054120_500539119_11120969_1636802 661_n.jpg

Unfortunatley the right side of the trunk is not symetrical to the left so I have to do a template for that side as well

Panels and trunk floor will be wrapped in tan carpet and there will be cutouts where the amps & license plate will be mounted painted to match the car with edge lit plexi around it.

Awwww cheap kenwoods on such nice speakers :crap:

They're actually a pretty darn good match for the drivers chosen.....if you look past the b.s. peak ratings Kenwood still plasters all over the boxes, that's a good clean 40wrms per channel on the 2404 and 150wrms bridged on the 1502s......looks pretty well thought out to me, remember it's for his father who is not into ear shatterring spl levels lol........:D:D:D

Hey I understand what you're saying, I used to really love all things Kenwood, right up till they started with all the bogus ratings and stuff, so until recently I hadn't run anything Kenwood since the early 2000's.....I recently got a hold of the excelon x595 deck and was pretty impressed with it's features and I know that their amps are pretty decent if you look past all the b.s............
