I have heard a set of High end focal components and a set of high end boston acoustic componenets literally side by side.
If you actually seal the focals up, put them in a small enclosure like kick pods, they will out perform the bostons in sound quality and loudness, but if your looking to put these in your doors, I will definitely say Boston acoustics.

THat may be true, but chances are he's talking Focal access if he's comparing them to Boston se and lower line Focals were very unimpressive to me.

focals need enclosures to sound good imo. Really even sealed is really pushing it I'd go ported. Being your obviously in car I would go boston

I agree the best Focals ive heard where in sealed enclosures of proper size. Boston was great in normal car installs, doors or rear deck.

I absolutely love my Boston's, they are pretty straight forward in a door set-up. Not much you really have to do to make them sound good. But I have notice they didn't have as much low end at first. Over a couple years, I continually experimented with different things to bring out the soft tonal quality they are known for. Increase door stiffness as much as possible in your door, and they will come alive. I honestly haven't heard the Focals you want to compare them too, but a couple of these guys^^^ seem to have good experience with them, so I think you will probably be able to choose soon. Hope this helps!

U won't blow them as long as u don't clip em. I ran a set of se65 coaxials on 175wrms per side while I was in between builds and they're still kickin. And I wasn't easy on em at all.

I have Type S Alpine's in my car. I ordered Boston SE95's and SE45's just now so I'll let ya know how they stack up against each other. I should have the Bostons on the 6th.

The Bostons were garbage I'll never buy another set from them. Had em for a month and the front right blew sent em back for a set of Polk DXi's and they are way better

I love my boston's... I've had some trouble with the wire leads in my 6x9's but I', assuming that's from years of abuse from the subs... otherwise I've never had a problem with my fronts and I've beat on them everyday for years.
