26530714I may be totally wrong here, but yes this cs144 alt will indeed bolt to a 5.7 aslong as it's a 96-2000. I have 1 bolted into the stock location right now on a 99 5.7 vortec and it uses a adapter plug. This may help others who are looking.

no sorry. It won't fit on a 5.7. Only a 4.3 & 5.3.

IDK, but the plug is likely different. The 1 mounting tab is likely different and I think might be a straight up and down mounting, if it is straight up and down you can buy the front case half cheap and just change it, it's easy and I actually have 1 that I pulled off my newest alt to replace with the stock style mounting like this alt posted for sale.

What does your alt look like from the front? Are the "ears" on the sides or toward the bottom like this one? I can measure center from ear to ear if that would help.

From what I just looked up, it appears that the mounting location is the same. But the 1 mounting foot is much thinner. I would suggest that it would mount so long as there is room for the thicker 2" wide foot. Other than that the plug is prolly deff diff and not sure how the alt is set up electrically, however a regulator would fix that since there is many electrical connection configurations for this alt to work in just about anything. Its worth looking at.

Yeah my alt. Mounts on the bottom side...OK, now the plug on this alt is a 4 pin plug originally for the blazer/S10. Some fullsize trucks will have a 4 pin plug, but most with be a 2 pin plug like mine was. For that reason I took it to an alt shop and had them install the "1 wire hook up" to run as a main or 2nd alt on a system. Now when doing this it may or may not turn on you batt charger light on your dash. It did on my silverado when I ran it as the main, but it did not in my friends ford when he did (with a custom bracket) for 1 show.

ok..my truck is a 1994 chevy silverado though...
I personally own a 96 gmc sonoma (s10) with a 4.3 and i know 100 % that my high output alt bolts right up to my 96 chevy silerado. No diffrent plugs or nothing just bolt and plug and your done. I know this for a fact cause i have switched them back and fourth. SO i know 100% that a 94 and 96 are identical. Thought that might help.
