So i have been interested in car audio ever since i bought my Jeep (2007)

i had 2 12 inch p3s which were the loudest in my highschool, ever since this experience i just wanted to get louder and be the loudest in the area.

Next i upgraded to 1 18" d2 SMD/AA and powered it using a Rockford Fosgate T40001bd. I had the box built for me, and all i did was put everything together. I wanted to keep 5 seats and be able to see throughout my windows

i competed with this system 3 times and won once with a score of 144.6dbs on music (white girl) on a test tone it did 145.6 which i didn't really know too much of, if it was good or bad but i was told that it was a pretty impressive score.

Around January, while i was driving 40 kms to Centennial College (I was taking a auto body apprenticeship course) my whole right side channel speakers popped, my t500.2 amplifier got messed and sh*t was just horrible. I didn't know what the problem was because i checked all my connections that i had modified and everything was tight and clean. So then one day i went bowling with my cousins and my Jeep broke down on me, it wouldn't start so then i had it towed to my dads autobody shop.

i later found out that the positive lead that goes to my fuse box had corroded and was loose. I sanded it down and and cleaned the corrosion off it. It fixed all my problems!

I saw that the Kicker warhorse was for sale on audiosavings so i didn't hesitate... i bought it, not knowing that the SMDs have to be Dual 1s in order for me to run it -_-.

I decided to just sell my old SMD and start from scratch and go for KICKER everything, no disrespect Rockford Fosgate is a good company but i just prefer KICKER.

So for my next build i wanted it to be LOUD and LOW so i decided to go with the SMDs again since they are amazing subs, and tune the box to 30hz since, i wanted to be able to do hairtricks since that would be pretty impressive in the area that i live. (not that many ppl have wicked systems). Also a ground pounder no burp machine!

The gear that i needed to buy was:

2 SMD/AA's Dual 1s
1 Kicker Warhorse
3 Kicker IX amplifiers 500.4
4 sets of KS65.2 comps
5 XS Power batteries 4- D3100 and 1 D5100 (i already have one D5100)
3/4 MDF
4 6" Aero Ports
100 ft 2/0 gauge welding wire
2/0 ring terminals
black carpet
Kicker and Monster RCAs
and MOTIVATION

Man, super clean jeep. I want one so bad. This build looks to be promising. Will be tuned in.
I deff feel like you could have got substantially louder with the 4000 and the SMD. Of course a ton of factors go into SPL scores, but some tweaking should have got you a bit higher.

Your Wrangler is insane, I have a 95 YJ with two 12's and could only make them fit if i took the back seat out, so I only have 2 seats haha.

My jeep is not nearly as nice as yours though! Its getting old, I wish I had the money to fix it up and get the audio up to par with yours!

there was no where else that i can add speakers, also these kicker models are clear, IMO they are underrated. They are also very appealing with the speaker grills

I meant the subs... Not my choice of speakers but if they work for ya that's great... I just didn't get the purpose of the 6.5 subs unless you where running a 4 way setup but even still those won't go up to 500 so they wouldn't be a good mid bass...

http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff421/jagraj7870/DSC00512.jpg
Then i cut some aluminum 1/4" plates for my fuses didn't wanna spend 80-100 bucks for a 6-fuse holder

how thick the wire is

Man, I really wish I lived closer to Moab than NW Indiana. I could road trip my ZJ there but that would probably be hell on my back. 4.25" of lift plus short arms doesn't equal a smooth ride by any means.

you should be ashamed of yourself putting big rims and some rubber bands on a Jeep Wrangler. That is the most pointless thing i have ever seen. They are made for big tires and to be torn the hell out of not be like a donk.

Your money or my money? i don't need no opinions on how to spend my money, keep those comments to yourself and don't waste your time reading my thread. I posted this for others to see that fitting this much equipment in a Jeep JK is possible and that when it comes to car audio, its better to think outside of ur car and fit it all in. At the end its very rewarding but, then again it gets some haters like you. As the old saying goes...

I'd just hate to see all that hard work go for nothing when someone decides to break in because you were advertising it. I've chased people from my car before and been chased by people for my car. It's not fun. I got chased out of Louisville about 6 years ago with the Caprice by some hillbillies in a pickup trying to steal it. They followed me into a parking garage. I parked and left, then the truck left with just one person. You don't pay to get into garage to drop someone off so I was pretty suspicious. I went back to my car bu no one was there. I decided to drive up to the top to see where that guy went. When I got back down, the pickup was parked with both guys in it across the spot I was in. I carefully drove past them and they followed me out. I purposely, and safely, blew a red light to get away from them but they followed. I found my way to I-65 and got on heading south. They followed. I used some pretty aggressive driving techniques, especially for a boat of a car with no rear swaybar at about 85-90 mph. I started losing them at about 85. I didn't slow down until I couldn't see them anymore. It was definitely scary but man am I glad I went back to the car. I would have been stranded in Kentucky with no car, no computer because it was in the trunk, no changes of clothes because they were all in the trunk too, and just plain out pissed off. I didn't have a system in the car at that time either. They just wanted the car. Bumping your system makes it more noticeable to potential theives. Telling that story still gets me worked up. ****.

Probably should have. I was 19 years old and scared outta my mind. I didn't think to. All I could think about was getting the fack out of there.
