I am trying to decide between the eclipse sc6500 and the image dynamics ctx65 any input?

I would stick with a companies' top of the line speaker, so eclipse sc6500. Lower tier products in a companies line up are dumbed-down to meet a price point.

I was thinking eclipse I just want to be sure

Review on the Eclipse
"The SC6500's are nice, but they seem to have a harshness at the high end. This might be tamed with dropping the tweeter level...sold two sets of those running off of 100RMS+. "

ID CTX

I had the IDs at one point..they were good, but kinda over-hyped..never played with the eclipse..

Where you been, his has been for a bit now haha.

I would say it is nice to see a rep from another company not only commenting on threads outside their product lines, but linking to other's reviews to help with a forum members decision. To top it off, he didn't even offer up any of Cadence's gear to the OP so no pushing for sales...always great to see that.

- I hear you, I only show up here about every 6 months - I have too many other things to do. I'm behind the times.

that is rare

I also am considering type r's. I am looking for sq preferably non metallic tweets and to stay in the 100-200 range

i hear a lot of praise for the ID ctx65.never heard ether of them tho. i did just get my massive audio ck6v's in today and they're pretty nice. i only have them running off of 60wrms for now but they should have +100wrms.

I have 2 sets of the SC6500's. Very nice speakers. Tweeters are similar to the LPG 25NFA's. The mids are awesome in a properly treated door. Hands down one of my favorite component sets.
