Need a pair of comps for SQ system on a budget for mainly hip hop \ rap music. Amp gives 2x100rms per channel @ 4ohm \ 2x 200 @ 2ohm.

I have good experience with ID ctx65cs in the past a however they are at the top of my price range($160) so hoping can get decent comps for a bit less. Saw a deal on Massive VK6 for $75 so considering those also as well as any other suggestions you have

It's really hard to get good component sets under $150 - $200 in my opinion. I would spend the money, because other than installation and speaker placement and power, most of your sound quality is the componet speakers.

I was looking around for a comp set around the same price, but i settled on a pair of Hybrid Audio Mirus coax drivers (http://store.12velectronics.com/mirus-m51-2-5-25-coaxial-speaker-set/) . Should be here fairly soon.

Really? Wow I expected them to be pretty good, being Digital Designs and all. I guess that explains the low price.

^^^ I just posted a thread about those too. So far, I've only heard bad reviews. I'd avoid them.

I was planning to get those components and this amp: C2c 120w x 2 @ 4 ohm (http://www.dd4life.com/C2c-120w-x-2-4-ohm_p_118.html)

Does anyone know if the amp is good at least?

For under $150, Morel Maximo are some of the best for the price. Several publications have done comparison of 5-6 different speakers together, and Maximos always came on top or among the best. The only problem is that there is no twitter attenuation control. They also have good sensitivity. Massive Audio CK6 is also good, but they need a more powerful amplifier, maybe >100watt per channel.

Among these two, the ONX4 is better if you don't care about its size. NX4's wattage rating is inflated, but it's more compact. Personally, I would have bought Kenwood XR-4S, which is powerful _and_ compact, or one of the new PPI Black Ice amplifiers. They're about to ship, but their specs are already posted. They are supposed to be decent amps for the money as they were designed to be higher grade than PPI Sedona, and they used some SoundStream (rubi?) board as their starting design.
