i have a soundstorm f700.2 tri way capable amp thats supposedly pushin 500 rms 700 peak hooked to 2 mtx 8000's,can i hook my components up bridged or will they try using too much power?its a 2 channel amp and my components are fosgate fanatic x's,have em through the crossover, but could i hook it up low and see that they work.also does it matter that the subs are 2 ohm and theyd be wired at 4 bridged
tri mode means you bridge the subwoofer and hook the comps up normally.
Often times that requires a little extra hardware, possibly a coil or inductor, but that depends on what your manual calls for.
As long as you don't go below the stable ohm ratings on the amp, you should try it. Keep your gains down, and hook the speakers up. Slowly increase the volume and see how it sounds. Note: you will need to run the amp full range, meaning your components will be getting some low tones, and your subs getting high tones, so you might want to invest in some more hardware to filter those unwanted frequencies.
