Audio Features

MP3/WMA Playback: The KD-AR800 can play MP3 and WMA files that have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet or Romeo. You can directly access folders numbered 01-12 (they must be assigned two-digit numbers when recorded). Each disc can have a maximum of 8 folder hierarchies, 200 folders, and no more than a total of 512 files and/or folders on each disc.

Subwoofer Output: This unit has 2-volt gold-plated subwoofer preamp outputs (the front and rear preamp outputs are 5-volt outputs) on a 10" pigtail. The subwoofer output has independent level control, adjustable from 00 to 08, and a selectable low-pass crossover. You can select a cutoff frequency from Low (50 Hz), Medium (80 Hz) or High (115 Hz).

Rear Auxiliary Input: The KD-AR800 features a set of Line Input jacks (Left and Right RCAs) on a 10" pigtail attached to the rear panel. This allows you to connect a portable CD, MP3, Minidisc, Video Game or Computer to the receiver.

Intelligent EQ (3-Band iEQ): This model has "Hard Rock", "R&B", "Pop", "Jazz", "Dance Music", "Country", "Reggae", "Classic", "User 1", "User 2", "User 3", and "Flat" preset EQ curves. "User 1", "User 2", and "User 3" presets can be adjusted to your preference and stored in memory. For each preset, you can independently adjust the following:
•Low Level: -06 to +06
•Low Frequency: 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz
•Low Width: 1 (min.) to 4 (max.)
•Mid Level: -06 to +06
•Mid Width: 1 (min.) to 2 (max.)
•High Level: -06 to +06
•High Frequency: 8kHz, 10kHz, 12kHz, 15kHz

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-AR800 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low", the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high", and the volume control will range from 0 to 50. You can also turn off the internal amplifier with this control when you are using external amplifiers for all your speakers.

The description said it uses J-Link for the CD changer.

Sooooooo...J-link to IPod cable.
Just have to figure out what generation of IPod b/c you are going to have to choose 5v or 12v charging.
Or you could get J-Link to 3.5mm jack.

kinda disappointed in pioneers sq in the last few years..
the x995 with a ac dqxs is about 750 and you have a very clean source unit and some serious processing power..
