The purpose of the thread was because he is excited about someone helping him. Also, I will be posting the design on here as well. :) I did mention to him if he wants to make a thread and I will post up the design on here if he likes, but I mentioned that it was up to him to do whatever he liked and no obligation was needed. The thread was done soley on his own because he is excited, so let him be excited.

NP. You can't let people run over you on here. Especially if you are just trying to help. :) I respect everyone on this forum and I am not trying to do anything but help out. I believe I mentioned this in the beginning when I came here. So, no one should be questioning my intentions even they feel threatened. Take surreal for example...ask him how many good things I have said about his work out of pure respect. I do not question the intentions of anyone as it is not my business. My business is to help and make sure the audio community gets what they need. I do not take lightly to judgemental inferior feelings towards me. People know that here already, so I am surprised anyone felt that way. But anyhow, again, I'm glad to help, thank you for the form, and when I get the design completed, ill post it up here for us to discuss and share our thoughts about, as a forum thread should be,lol. Thanks Justin!

yeah I can't wait till tomm my uncle has a wood shop in his basement and he is gonna help me build it. I wanna use the extra wood and build an amp rack but the problem is i'm not very good imagining things plus I would need it to be expandable.

Awesome man! Hope it works out for you. It should give you some pretty good output. The port was specially calculated for a specific area for that driver :). A little trick I do with some of my Bass-Reflex designs.

Thank you very much! I plan on making this a full time business shortly depending on whether I can get someone for the administrative work. The tough part of this type of business is that having someone answer emails and such for you cannot be done unless they understand the knowledge you have. I think that is why most of us do it alone, lol.

LOL, nice. I thought about that.........:) BUt shes in college right now :(. Plus it drives her crazy how much time I spend on each design. She is very accepted right now.....for now, lol.....I do not want to overload her(yet). But it will definitely be cheaper :)

Mine is an Instructor for a local college and a pharmacist...she is busy but "finds" the time for me. I think it was more, she was tired of hearing me complain that everyone I hired to help was just about useless and I had to go over anything they did which included responding to emails lol.

Well if you guys need any help with answering emails i can certainly help!!

You would have to be local, and understand every part of the engineering process and technical information on each design. A LOT of learning would be involved, and is not something efficiently done over the internet. Not something for a beginner, but one day, you never know. :)

If it doesnt show that on the right, Ill start a new thread with some in there.

Yes, a few. Let me start some build threads and Ill link them here. Nothing special though, mainly ones of my standard ebay designs, but a few custom ones where I might not have finished taking pics for, lol, but Ill get some build pics up for a few of them and again, Ill link the thread here. :)

Here is the thread of the simple designs I have built that I actually took pics of. I only took pictures to replace the sketch up ones on EBAY when I was selling these designs. I was selling so many of them, I couldn't keep up, so I stopped selling them, and I am now selling other ones that are a little more appealing and complex. Here is the link http://www.caraudio.com/forums/supporting-vendors-%2Anew%2A/520912-mobile-enclosures-builds-few-them.html. More will be added as well, now that this thread was started.

Again, these are some of the simple builds, lol. Nothing like a wall or anything like that yet....that I have actually photographed yet. I will likely be doing more pics of the builds since people seem to like them and now that I am on the internet. its a building process and this was the beginning of it.

Also, I have another one here http://www.caraudio.com/forums/supporting-vendors-%2Anew%2A/520914-mobile-enclosures-single-18-reverse-tline-build-log.html that I just put up as well of a single build log, and what it looks like in his vehicle. I apologize if I am not very good yet at posting pics correctly or making it look presentable, but this was done quickly, so bear with me.

ok i built the box and ill put up pictures later today when i get time to take them. I want to paint the box but i dont know what color to paint it to fit the theme. I'm debating on painting it the color of the exterior which is eden green. or red which is the color of the underglow i have or the stock color of the interior which is kind of a tan color. Does anybody have any ideas for me?

That amp is going to break mounted on top of the box.

Nut Hair Trick

Nice work on that box. If you paint it, of course, I'm sure you know you will have to fill in the screw holes and seams with wood filler. A painted box, if done right looks really nice. I'm colorblind, so if I told you to paint it a certain color, it might have you all f'd up. Regardless, whether you paint or carpet it, that box will look nice.

why will it break? where should i mount it then? i'm thinking about making an amp ramp to put it on top!

just put it on the side vibrations will loosen up the screws, or damage the amp

solidcrowd
08-29-2011, 04:26 AM
Make a side amp rack or throw in a false floor, mount the amp rack to that..along with the box.

wait im confused what do you mean a side amp rack what would that look like? false floor is out of the question due to money issues although I have some left over wood from the enclosure that i might be able to use for an amp rack but I dont know what a side amp rack would look like.

Moble Enclosurs
08-29-2011, 08:17 PM
if you put some dampening material between the mounting structure of the amplifier, you can mount it to the enclosure. Not too thick though, some foam material would work good, less than .5" thick. You can mount it to the side of the port, where less compression exists. This will help reduce vibrations a little. What I was thinking, was facing the design to the passenger side, then using the floor area to mount the amp using a secondary sheet of wood with dampening material between the wood and the floorboard. You can secure the wires to the board as well. This is just a simple way to have room for a separate "amp rack" per-say, and not have to worry about it vibrating too much. Compression in the vehicle will not be affect much at higher power levels if the design is coupled well with he vehicle compression area. So, phasing will not be much of a concern, just small changes in output at the listening position. These are two options for you. Not the best options, but for a budget you mentioned, it will suffice.
