View Full Version : Opinions on speakers please?

My girlfriend just bought a (used) 1993 camry, and the factory speakers sound horrible. I'm not looking to purchase a whole system because we don't have alot of money. Just some decent speakers is what we want in the $50-$70 range, if that's even possible. The 2 speakers in the front door panels are 6.5" and the 2 rear one's are 6"x9".

The head unit that will be used is a Pioneer DEHP7400MP(50x4). There will NOT be an amp pushing the speakers(as of right now), so I know I will not be getting the most out of any speaker I buy. Please give me your opinions.

Is that for all 4 or per pair?

I like infinity. If I where you I would look into the Infinity Reference line. Ike has them and both are less then $60 a pair!

Infinity References, JBL GTOs are a couple I like.

Ebay is a great place to find good deals on them.

CDT 6.5's all around is what I would run. $44.99/pair shipped from thezeb.com. Just get some adaptor plates for the rears for likr $8 a pair from adleraudio.com too.

Ok, I think I've decided on getting JBL GTO936's for my 6x9's, and I can't find any CDT 6.5's that'll fit, so I'm going to just wait and get some Infinity 6002si's for my 6.5's in a few months. what do ya think?
