I am planning/pricing a system for my 93 honda accord 4 door.
crutchfield.com claims there are no speakers that will fit my front doors.
I know that thats a **** lie but what size will fit in the front doors and no i havent taken the old ones out yet to look cuz im at work and i am in the very early stages of planning a system.

the 6.5 speakers that crutchfield has are probably to deep.

On my truck my front doors had 6x9's but crutchfield said none of those would fit, and it turned out that the aftermarket speakers had too deep of a mounting depth.

Crutchfield has good support however they told me the same thing about my infinity comps that I put in my 01 Z-71. After emailing infinity and taking apart my door I found they would not fit in my door the exact same way the factory speakers would. So in sense Crutchfield was right but also was wrong. I was able to drop install them into the door panel and put the factory mesh grill back on the door panel and it looks so killer. Leaves just a hint there is something under there. Check out my pics. As for your tweet sitiation I would get some comps as most of them have tweeter mounts included that allow you to position them to face the direction you want.

6.5" in the doors and look into convertible and braxial speakers if you are looking for aimable tweeters. Both of these designs let you aim the tweeter, but they have the option of being used as seperates as well if you decided to go that way later as well.

Be careful, some accords differ on models...My 93ex had 6.5's, but my friends lx had 5.25's....Also, best to build a little 3/8 or 5/8's baffle for the speaker out of wood. Just take out the factory plastic "pod" and trace it on a piece of wood. Cut, make your hole, and you can put most any speaker in there...The 6.5's i have now are 3.5" deep.....Hope that helps you....

the front speaker is 6.5". once you take off the stock speaker ring you can fit 7" in there.

i did notice that there are more choices for 6.5's. I was in Best Buy yesterday and heard some Pioneers next to some Kenwoods (6x9's) the pioneer sounds better than the Ken's but i havent heard any infinity drivers yet so what do you guys think between pioneer and infinity?

Infinity is good for the money.

I had the same problem with my 6.5" Black Gold midbass drivers so I moved the window track a little to the outside and then built out with a piece of 1/2" mdf and it fit just fine. It was alot to do for them to fit but the sound makes it worth it.
