So my transmission just locked up. Debating if i should get it replaced or just scrap the car and buy a new used car.
2000 Chevy Impala
101k Miles.
Bought the car for 3k. 3 years ago.
Already have about 2k in repairs.
over 2-3k in caraudio/tints/ other misc. upgrades.
Only a few hundred saved up ATM.
Opinions please?

Might check around junkyards and just see if you can get lucky first before you do something drastic.

This sometimes can just cause more problems.

Fluids are good. Filter was changed about a year ago.. or less.

Yeah my mechanic advised me not to change the fluid when he changed the filter.

it doesn't matter at this yard. it's a u-pull yard. you can get engines for like $135? trans for 60 something. with 30 days.

most pull a parts where im from are alot cheaper than buying one from a junkyard that parts out stuff...but if you were to buy one from a junk yard or a place like LKQ they would come with a warranty

Thats what happens when you drive an autobox. I vote finding a rebuilt one or having it rebuilt. being that its RWD, it might be cheaper
