I have a strange problem with my hu...the remote and touch screen stop working but all the buttons on the hu itself is still working properly. what can be the problem?

Could be a ribbon cable between the touch screen and mainboard or defective part that drives the display. Can have dead a battery(ies) in the remote. If you don't have experience repairing head units, I would send it to someone who does or find a local electronics repair shop that has experience repairing car audio.

if it is the touch panel (could be other things) it's only like 50 bux

There's a service manual you can order in the part listings too

I dont have a whole lot of experience with headunit repair but for this one I doubt its much harder than repairing an xbox or working on a computer =P
