This one will be for Charity, all proceeds going towards Junior Diabetes. New England SPL and Lower Level Customs have teamed up again for 2011 and will be hosting a car show and SPL Comp for charity. Event is on April 30th, registration begins at 10am, car show is free (donations greatly appreciated), SPL will be a $10 donation per run. Possibly a 50/50 raffle too. It's been a long off season, so I'm sure people are anxious to compete again. I plan on being there, but I have no idea yet what I'll be doing...too busy to work on anything for myself!

Sounds good to me, but you do realize it's not a TNESPL show, it's an NESPL show, so no points for this one.

Nate I guess there aren't any LI audio comps anymore, thats what Kevin S posted on another forum. Said thats why they have to hit TNE shows in CT to get their points for Finals.

Depending on what kind of power you have, you can do one of the Amateur classes since you've never competed before. Check out the list of rules on my website, so you'll know what class you want before you get there. www.NESPL.Org (http://www.NESPL.Org)

Got it.
I think i mite have a small problem though, my box is over 3" taller than my window

SPL Blazer
04-18-2011, 09:20 PM
What is the total height of the enclosure, including subs if they're mounted on top?

Dennis
04-19-2011, 12:30 PM
My box with subs mounted up is 25.5 inches

SPL Blazer
04-19-2011, 12:37 PM
Sounds like a music format is where you wanna play, like Slammin Bass at this show, or Bass Brawlin at any TNESPL show. You'd be in Super Stock 1 in my shows, or Pro 1 at a TNESPL show. TNE rules allow a total of 25", that includes everything on the box.

so for this show on april 30th id be in super stock 1 in slammin bass?

SPL Blazer
04-19-2011, 03:14 PM
Super Stock is for burps, the Slammin Bass format is music only and there are no height or power requirements. For Slammin Bass you'd be in Slammin 2.

Dennis
04-21-2011, 05:15 PM
so how much would it be to be entered in the slammin 2 format?

SPL Blazer
04-21-2011, 06:22 PM
For this show it's $10, you have to make two runs with this format because we take both scores and average them together to get your final score. It's 30 seconds of continuos bass music that is averaged over the whole 30 seconds. You want to find some music that has pretty steady bass in it, doesn't matter who or what music. I like stuff from Bass Mekanik or DJ Billy E, other people like various rappers and more mainstream music tracks. Someone on here might be able to point you towards some good music to use. The key is finding a decent track, and not changing it during your run cause your score will drop if there's no bass in it.

Dennis
04-21-2011, 06:46 PM
alright thanks, so 10$ for the two runs? qualifying and final?

SPL Blazer
04-21-2011, 06:55 PM
yeah, it's a charity show and the 1st of the season so we're doing things a little different. Like instead of our normal trophies we're doing framed plaques, so more money goes to charity, for the event fee's we're doing them at $10 instead of our normal $20. For the SPL portion it's a $10 donation per run, with Slammin Bass since you have to make two runs we'll do it for $10 for both. And the charity is the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, we're doing the show alongside Lower Level Customs, they are a local non-profit club.

Dennis
04-22-2011, 05:37 PM
and one more question, sorry lol, being as im already doing slammin 2, can i enter into another category as well? such as stock 2 or sumthing?

Dennis
04-22-2011, 09:14 PM
and that is, if i can lower my box to the window line

dbjunior
04-22-2011, 09:45 PM
yes you can compete in both classes but it will be an additional fee for the other class

Dennis
04-22-2011, 10:16 PM
Thx got it all now

SPL Blazer
04-23-2011, 07:56 AM
Junior got it, Slammin Bass is a different format than the Stock 2 db format, so you can always do both if you want. You just can't do something like Stock 2 and Pro Stock 2 because they are both in the same format.

Mr. Slate
04-23-2011, 04:21 PM
Steve, only 3 southern NE show? :(

SPL Blazer
04-24-2011, 11:54 AM
There are other shows in the works, but nothing confirmed yet. I don't like to post or say anything til they are all set, just in case they don't happen.

Mr. Slate
04-24-2011, 04:21 PM

SPL Blazer

I made that mistake last season, posted a couple shows cause I was certain they'd happen, but had to cancel them before they were really all set. Don't wanna get anyones hopes up or have anyone makes plans and then have a show get cancelled. I know I'd hate that if it happened.

Dennis

Cmon, bring on the shows to long island my good sir ;)

I don't do shows outside of New England, hence the name, New England SPL, lol. Team NorthEast SPL has them all over the Northeast, including New York. But it's a matter of finding someone and and someplace to do one down your way. For me it's not worth it, but I'm sure someone could do it.

Some of the best shows that I have competed in were in Long Island. Speedworld in Riverhead use to do mega USACi shows a couple times a year.

I'm gonna see about installing the recent TermLab updates, supposedly you can upload the event scores directly to FaceBook while the event is happening, not sure how it works but I intend to find out. Guess there are a few nice new options for event promoters in the new update, and some things for competitors too, like a Bass Race practice setting.

Updated Termlab with the current update, still can't figure out how Facebook works with it, no buttons to click on and no mention of it anywhere. Hmm, wish Wayne would return emails. There is a cool option that I did notice, gonna have to buy a webcam. Looks like when a webcam is used during your run it will save a picture of you in the lane, and on the picture it puts your name, class and final score. Can be used to add to your facebook page if wanted.

SPL Blazer
05-03-2011, 05:32 PM
Nah, my phone is pretty basic, don't think that would work. Webcam's can't be that much money, just gotta find a decent one for the shows. Never had to use one, so hope they're easy. My iMac has one built in, but never bothered with one for the laptop.
