CL 62PROX (http://cdtstore.com/syst_packs/cl62prox.htm)

$299 with 1 yr warranty or $310 with 5 year.

Are the cl-62's speakers good for being a lower end model?

Anyone have any experience with them?

I am running the CL-62Pro components on a 120x2 Massive Audio amp for my front stage. Even without any deadening I'm getting tons of midrange from the woofers, and the tweeters sound wonderful without any harshness.

I wouldnt run them. Everyone here loves them, but most people here dont care about quality and SQ. They only care about loud. Reviews at more reputable sites show they arent that great and there are cheaper sets that outperform them in every aspect.

If your looking to spend that cash you might as well just spend about another 100 or so bucks and buy a set of Hertz hi energy comps you will not be disappointed with them

and personally love the way the new sets look

The Diamond Audio Hex 6.5" will stomp all over the CDT's as will the Eclipse SC8365 component set for a fraction of the cost of anything listed here.

Eclipse SC8365 - 6-1/2" Component Speakers System - Sonic Electronix (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7477_Eclipse-SC8365.html)

I've seen people complaining about the tweeter cutting out on the Eclipse set?

Is that a question or statement? I have yet to see anyone complain about them.

only place it says that is in the 1st review on sonic, not sure what was going on there maybe pushing a smaller amp into clipping? They do want power.

Mine sound great with the mid running active on separate channels

A statement, but forget I said anything. I can't really find where I read it. I was going to get them myself at one time. The last review on SonicE mentions it, but maybe he didn't know what he was doing?

Link to some reviews of the CDT components the OP asked about. I'd love to read them.

About the M6 woofers falling apart, did you contact CDT about it? They've been in the business of designing and building car and home speakers for decades. They stand behind their products. The optional 5 year warranty for only $10 extra should say something about that.

Lulz. More than 70% of the people who leave reviews on car audio websites have no clue what they are talking about. You can see this just by looking up Boss, SPL, or any other junk brand and they all say great amps, top notch, put out awesome power, my shiz was bangin yo. I would take those reviews with a grain of salt and find a real review.

Bought them B-stock from CDT and they wouldnt warrant them because i chipped the baskets trying to remove the braxial mounts that some douche at CDT stripped out. Buttfuck CDT!!

Well now I have some more homework to do. I'm going to keep researching the CDT's. Those eclipse look nick especially for 3-ways. I haven't heard anything about the Diamonds, so I will research them as well. I was also looking at the Bravox CS 60K, the reviews are really good on them. Anyone use them or know (actually know) anything about them?

In your defense, I don't know what CDT's stance was on refurbished items when you made your purchase, but this is what their site says now:

From Shop CDT Audio - Refurbished Items (http://cdtaudio.com/shop/) , a page specifically for b-stock items for sale(bold emphasis mine):

CDT Audio Refurbished items condition vary from minor surface dents and scratches sometimes miss matching paint color.
These products vary from engineering prototypes, used or demo items, items damaged from shipping and production handling. The refurbished products are checked to assure sound quality is not compromised. Refurbished items are going through special quality control testing and if passed Q.C. sold in bulk wrapped in plain boxes marked refurbished item w/ 90 days warranty.

It would have been nice of them to be lenient with you considering the trouble you had with the woofers. Was it wrong of them to deny a warranty claim?
