01-12-2011, 01:56 AM
Looking into getting a single din Touch Screen Deck for my Sable(lol). Gunna replace a old kenwood i got, kenwood works great i just am getting alittle bored with it.

Things im looking for;

Cost effective, around or less than 500$
Navigation, Either built in or with function to add navigation components at a later time
Blue Tooth (im assuming most have this these days)
the usual bells and whistle.

Thanks guy interested to see what youll suggest and what youve used and what your experience with that HU was.

I have a SoundStream single din deck with a hang down 7" touch screen. If you have your climate controls above the din slot then this is something that would work for you. It has blue tooth enabled, I use it with my phone, and has an optional nav box you can add later. It has a usb port on the front as well.

the quickest way around the iso port would be to either clip if off and direct wire those, or to get a plug to match it.

any ideas where i could get a plug that matches it? would rather not clip off factory stuuff.

google possibly, you may have to get the plug and wire it yourself, not that hard to do.

Can anyone tell me any Differences between the;

and the;

Other than the .3" size difference in the screen?
I'm just not seeing any difference Between the two. Think ive pretty much settled it down to one of these two HU's though.

other than the name there is no difference, the .3 diff in size is because of the way they are measured,

same company makes both,

there actually the same company? haha thats funny ok thx

Never heard of Eonon, but they do have some nice looking units and the price isnt bad at all. Only thing I'm left wondering about is any EQ settings? Havent seen them mentioned on any of the units on their site.

Installed the D1305 the other night. I like it sofar, def a nice starter deck. Has EQ settings, only cons is that i wish it would play my music while viewing the navigation map, however it will play the navigation dialogue over the music which i found wierd that it wont do the oposite. Pretty cool linking my phone to it via blutooth but wish it would let me cycle through my address book by searching for names rather than having to scroll through every entry. Either way for 429.00 shipped definetly a good pickup! Oh yah only took three days to reach me in NY, definetly nice.

Oh, another thing. The external digital amplifier it uses was kind of a pain because i didnt have much room to mount it in my dash, maybe i just didnt find a good spot. Guess it was necessary for the deck to have such a large screen though.

It looks like enough speaker wires and RCA's come with the Amp to mount it under the seat ...other locations to look at might be behind the glovebox under console or possible behind the kick panel....

It does come with a good length of wire and rca but under the seat wouldnt work, not quite thatmuch wire. Behind the glove box is where i was able to fit it, my glove box has slight issues closing but i think i might be able to just move it around alittle back there and all should be good
