Hey guys, i'm in the process of building a new system for my Z and need all the input I can get since I have no prior experience with the acoustics of the Z. My last systems was composed primarily of Kicker so i'm thinking of sticking with them for the amps. Below is what I have this far:

Pioneer AVIC Z120BT Head Unit
(2) Orion HCCA 10.2 Subwoofers

What door speakers, behind seat speakers do you recommend?
What amp would you recommend for the two orion 10" subwoofers.

I am not trying to go overboard on the amps, I have priced the following and would like to stay in the range of $1000 for amps.

Kicker ZX2500.1 (10ZX2500.1) $679
Kicker ZX350.4 (10ZX350.4) $169

I plan to run the two subs @ two ohms, and the kicker amp is rated at 2500 watts RMS @ 2 ohms.

Thanks people

for the price of the kicker you can get something better.

Just a quick glance at the specs tells me that the HCCA 10.2 can handle 1500 watts rms... The amp you suggest only puts out 870 @ 2 ohms, 1200 @ 1. Seems to be somewhat less expensive than the kicker, but kicker will do 2500 @ 2 ohms, which I would expect to be more stable. Just my 2 cents, maybe you can explain.

510X1 @ 4 ohm,
870X1 @ 2 ohm,
1200X1 @1 ohm

its not always about what the specs say, i would take that audioque over the kicker any day. The power is cleaner and im sure the AQ can do more than what its rated

if you wire each sub to each amp to 1 ohm, they will be taking 1200rms each. AQ amps are underrated from what ive heard too. just what i thought i would do when i saw your set up.

lemme guess, youre running a factory alt, and the factory battery? You will have no chance in powering that 3500

@PlugItIn, yes sir, you are correct. I do not plan to do this installation myself. In order to save bucks on the system, I decided to purchase all of the components myself, and shop around for the best install deal. At that point I will have a custom box installed and extra batteries added, as per the installers reccomendation. I know how these guys overprice their hardware, so I decided to cut that profit out of the sale.

I mentioned the viper since the specs do seem very similar to the AQ amp.

youll probably get charged out the *** for installation of anything that you have bought anywhere else. anything of that power is going to take a lot from a charging system to power.

ahh...id still take the aq

Ok, I will purchase this HO alternator 250 AMP High Output Alternator Nissan 350Z Infinity G35 Parts - DragTimes.com (http://www.dragtimes.com/parts/250-AMP-High-Output-Alternator-Nissan-350Z-Infinity-G35_310278151453.html) good for 250 AMPs, 190 @ idle. Will this do the job? Also there is this one https://www.dcpowerinc.com/11051-270-xp.html?year=12&make=314&model=1130&engine=2009

get the DC alty, and run a sundown saz2500 @ .5

Physics tells me that lower resistance will be prone to more issues... I would be more comfortable running a 2 OHM load for daily use.

CL1CKCLACK
01-02-2011, 01:37 AM
the sundown amps have no problems running with that load. and after box rise youll be closer to 1-2 ohms anyways

brand doesnt matter besides how much power it puts out and the quality. youll need it for anything that takes that much power.
