I was looking at some different head units for multimedia, and soundstreams are significantly cheaper than many other brands, which I am assuming means you get what you pay for. But, I just wanted to check and see if anyone has had any experience with them.

i have the vir 7022nrb flip down screen, i like it... i'm going to be buying the navigation and tv tuner add on's very shortly. very easy e-brake bypass as well... are you looking into a single din, single din hang down (like mine), flip up or double din?

also it came with bluetooth built in, and has a usb plug on the front and a card reader... some have card readers built in depending on the model.

I am needing a single din, using a double din would put the screen too low in my car. My problem is finding a screen that has the wvga resolution in a single din, so far i have found the soundstream and a pioneer, but the pioneer is about $1000 vs. $2-300 for the soundstream.

they are both owned by the same parent company, same as PPI and another brand.

many headunits especially the ones with screens aare mass produced and get a bunch of different branding labels put on them. but they are more than likely the same exact unit. sometimes they are different though, very rarely.
This is the EXACT same Hu my wife wanted me to get her, really badly but I would not. I was a fraid it would just plain sound like junk. I bought her the Alpine CDA-117. She likes the sound but she still wants a touch screen. If you get this unit post here and let us know if it is any good or not. I might just get her one and put the Alpine in my work truck.
