i was looking for some cheap comps for my door and i came across these. I like the way they look and in the past ive enjoyed rockfords sound

what do you guys think?

ur not gonna beat either one of those sets on your budget, I have used both sets, both have a 3"vc, so they can take some power, both get very loud, and sound nice doing it...

i had the same speakers but the power series. i was underwhelmed, tweeter was way too f*cking harsh. for $66 though it might be worth the shot. i'm looking for a new set of comps, narrowed down to a few, one of them being:

i'm not going for any side. i was just asking that other guy a question. like i said, i had practically the same set. i wasn't 100% satisfied, but who's to say you wouldn't be? For $66 i'd say go for it. if you don't like, you could get most of your money back selling them on here or craiglist, not too big of an investment. i do think the "V.A.S.T. surround" is kind of gimmicky, but as for most products made of proprietary parts, to find them cheaper is a pleasant surprise

The RF's appear to be kinda cheap just going by the physical look of them.

Not to mention I've never heard a RF comp set that I liked...tweets were always too harsh for me.

what makes you not "thrilled with Phoenix Gold".... the RSD's are great for the money, great midbass, bright clear highs but not overly harsh and nice clear midrange. I'm not just saying this off of reviews I've read or anything I owned them and loved my set

my other set should be here on the 9th :), they are very similar to the older Cadence CVL's, Soundstream Reference, and a set of Morel's I forget which set...Very overlooked comps here

well, see the thing here is that i was going off reviews from people that have owned them. Not just going off what you guys think, but what you guy think matters too. But i havent liked any of the suggestions given to me. And i can tell you that id never go with the two you suggested. Sometimes i dontt understand why you guys rip on mainstream stuff... they got that way for a reason. And i might get killed here but id love to own JL audio cause i love the way there stuff sounds, but i dont want to pay there price for JL

Almost every brand has high end, middle of the road budget stuff, and crap, the sad thing is alot of people buy the crap, and think the whole brand is *****..

Lanzer Optidrive stuff is very good quality stuff, not that vibe crap or whatever its called

if you're worried about reviews from people who have owned them, do a google on the PG RSDs and you'll see they are great budget speakers, I don't think I've ever seen a negative review. As for the other 2 I've never owned or heard them myself but they look like they're worth a try

and those Se's you had are much better then the current ones they produce now
