I was just wondering if anyone had ever heared of using molded plastic for a sub enclosure? The reason I ask is because I have a vacuum form machine, and I wanted to construct the baffle part of an enclose using molded plastic. The plastic I would use is about 1/8" thick, so I would glue together several layers. I don't know if you have ever seen a vacuum form machine but what you do is heat a flat sheet of plasic until it is soft, then place it over your mold on the table and turn on the vacuum. The soft plastic instantly takes the shape of the mold, and then hardens as it cools. I know I couldn't make an entie enclosure this way, but using it for one contoured section might be feasable, and easier than fiberglass.

Any advise on this idea, or better yet experience?

Thanks!

yeah i would know. i tried to use some thin *** lexan for the top of a box... i got pissed cuz it flexed and rattled soo much that i took the subs out and threw the box against a wall.
