alright so my question is when i play my music loud my p162s component set glows red.
is there a short somewhere? or is it just not a good component set?
and the speaker is a coaxial but it still has a component for it.

Its pretty common for companies to put a light bulb in series with thier crossovers to help limit the power you can give the speakers...

What exactly is glowing? Can you get us a photo of said glow or a video. Is it the speaker or the crossover?

no its in the cross over. and its on a 400 rms @ 4 ohms. granit theres 2 of these on 1 side of the amp at 4 ohms but theres no where close these could be doin 100rms each so it couldnt be clipping and theres no light bulb in there. and its the crossover. ill take a picture of it tomorrow. thx for the feed back so far.

but there is a lightbulb in there which takes excess power and lights up because of this. mbquart crossovers do this i know and many other companies

A quick look in the features section of the user manual for those speakers lists tweeter protection: optical compression
I wonder what that could mean... :rolleyes:
