I want to get new speakers, but since I don't have subs I would like them to be able to put out some good bass. I want to spend 100 on a pair. What speakers or brands would you recommend. I know CDT, Infinity, and Focal are recommended, but are there speakers of those brands at my budget that can get some good bass??

I like the bass response of the MB Quart DTC 169 even though they are $35 over your budget. I think these 6x9's thump pretty good.

I'd still go for subs but these will push some air at ya instead of just rattle the loose screws. That's what the Sony Xplods do, alot of rattle nothing else

My polk MOMO comp. set bangs pretty good.

Try polk, infinity, CDT, MB Quart, RF (?), Pioneer Premier (?)

MB quart is known more for its treble rather than its bass or midbass.

I'd say Polk/MOMO and Infinity Kappa... I don't really know about CDT since I've never heard them but I'd stay away from RF and Pioneer for speakers.

CDT CL-61's have surprisingly good mid bass. PLUS, honestly...NOTHING....i mean nothing can touch them in that price range. peace

I am not looking for components. I am looking for 6x8 speakers.

ummm...especially if they are going to be FRON speakers...i would highly suggest going with a least ROUND coaxials. Oval shaped speakers are not good, and they distort VERY easialy at higher volumes...so, if they are front speakers...go with a good set of 6.5" components. The cdt-cl61's are great...and when powered by a good amp...you won't even need rear fill honestly. Will sound worlds better than oval speakers. peace
