Hello everyone,
was wondering with the decline of our economy if there are any companies left that prize themselfs with quality products anymore? I remember the days where quality was the main focus for companies...(Alpine 7909, Clarion DRZ-9255 and so on). It seems that everything is made in China or Korea and the quality doesn't seem to be there anymore. I think that with the decline of the economy holistically has had a termendous push on manufacturers to build products as cheap as possible internally and try to make them visually intising externally.
Off on a tangent but wanted to see if there's any options for a high SQ navigation system that uses quality components such as 24DAC's burr brown, good internals, no amplification of its own and so on. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

Current possibilities are:

NX700 - Clarion Double DIN DVD/CD/MP3 Player w/ 7" LCD Touchsceen

iNA-W900 - Alpine All-in-one Navigation and Entertainment System

DNX-9960 - Kenwood Excelon 2-DIN 7" TFT-LCD Monitor

AVIC-Z110BT - Pioneer Double-DIN 7" Touchscreen TFT-LCD

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Kenwood 8120(2008)/9140(2009)/9960(2010)

all have great SQ

Alpines are nice but I like the kenwoods a bit better

Why not buy one you like the look of and buy an external processor like a bitone or 3sixty?

i personally think that alpine sounds very crisp and clean
pioneer have very smooth sound

kenwood has very detailed sound but it doesnt feel alive

like cowon mp3 players they are great on paper but they sound very cold
thats how kenwood sounds. very accurate but cold digital sound.
