Was at the local car audio shop yesterday pricing wire and got to talking to the owner and he said because of the economy and their (Eclipse's not the shops) sales being down Eclipse is stopping production of aftermarket headunits and they are going to focus on their OEM stereos. Any one else hear this?

I'm pretty sure Eclipse stopped making good **** after they stopped making the Titanium and Titanium Pro subwoofers. Some people on Termpro said Eclipse's newer stuff after the Titanium era are made by the same company that makes stuff for JVC.

JVC's higher end headunits ( Arseanl ) are the ****.

IIRC, our local dealer said that the lower line Eclipses were made at the same place that the JVC HU's were made at. The 7100, CD8XXX higher end units were not.

I just installed a JVC KD-AVX77 into my friend's Accord and I was pretty impressed.

JVC is better than Sony IMO, unless you have the Sony ES which they don't make anymore.

I must be the only one who didn't care for his Sony Mobile ES HU because I hated my Sony CDX-C90. I first experienced the "no eject" problem when I was about 6 hours away from home and that was a boring *** drive back listening to the same CD over and over OR the radio. I purchased a cheaper Sony with ESP to have tunes while my CDX went off for repair, and the cheaper HU gave me less problems. Go figure...
