[FONT=Arial Black] Hi, this is my very first post. I have a few basic questions on baffles and angles.

Baffles
I was wondering if it is better OR if there is any difference from having baffles that are intergrated into the top ( like cut directly out of a MDF lid to a sealed enclosure) or Free standing ones (ones held up by dowels and connected by fiberglass)?

Angels
As for angels, i was wondering if 4 subs, mounted in a ring, facing up would have any increase or decrease in sound/quality as compared to all 4 either facing inward or outward?

I was wondering because i'm thinking of various ways I could mount either 4 x 10w6v2's or 4 x 8w7's in the spare tire well of my 2001 BMW e46 325ci.
I'm trying to save as much space as possible considering the size of trunk space available.

Any suggestions is highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance! :toast:

as far as the baffle is concerned, as long as its sealed and doesnt flex, youre good.

how do you have enough airspace in your spare tire well for 4 subs

Well the 10"w6v2 only requires about .625 each sub, 2.5 total. The 8w7 only require .8 eaach, which works out around 3.2 total.

The tire well is 12" radius on the bottom, and 13" radius on the top or the actual well. It's about a 10" depth. I cOULD if i need extend the top about 3 inchest above that 10 inches, and make the top a maxium 15" radius. The shape is a cone type, and the volume works out to about over 3.5 volume.

That's how i can fit 4.

Good call. I did a spare tire well install for my old set-up. Make sure you fiberglass the metal in the well so it doesn't resonate.
