View Full Version : AQ SDC2.5 12 Box Build

I plan on ordering an SDC2.5 12 incher from AQ when they get them back in stock. I started this build with the thought that I would order the sub this friday but went on the site today to find they are unavailable and it could be months until they are back. I fried my previous sub so I have nothing to put in this box. This is my first box build, the others were just pre-fab. I did not use MDF, I asked for it but the lumber yard gave me what I presume to be MDO.

The specs are 28L x 18D x 20W and the port is tuned to 38 hz.

I still need to paint the port, sand, fill, prime, and cover in bed liner.

if your gonna be doing more builds then invest in a router. it makes things sooo much easier

Well here's the story, I went to the lumber yard and asked for 3/4 MDF. They told me they were out and would have some in the following monday and would deliver it for me. So the following monday I came home to two 4x4 sheets of what I presume to be MDO. It's pretty dense and was a lot easier to work with so we'll see how it sounds.

p.s. mdf is fiberboard.
