Whats the best tuning and Vol and shape. Vented Box Design

I want to be more conservative with SPL, and more twords SQ (as much as a vented can be so)

It's a second Gen Ford Probe, I can get back to you dimensions but its a pretty spacious trunk(width and depth, might be a little short)

I Listen to Techno and dance and electronic music, and also rap. and rock. What kind of bass does techno like?

I'm eventually going to need a box designed. whats the going rate around here?

after reading, it seems the opposite is true. can there be too much SA on the port, or is more better?

too much surface in a port will make the box peak high in the tuned region. way too big and you may get unloading issues

Also what about bass drums? Do they act like a single excursion?(with no definite tone) how does consideration for this type of beat affect the design(not want them to sound like a puff of air through a tube? Does a sub sonic filter kill these considerably?

Kick drums should be the only drum heard through your subs. A sub sonic filter will not affect the reproduction of a kick drum.
