Ok, ive had multiple requests to post pics of the marble box I built that was doing 155+ in a street class vehicle. They are a bit random but maybe you can get the feel of how it was built.

Basic materials, 1.5" thick marble slab shipped in from Finland and cut angles for the corner fill.

Now I used Liquid Nails for marble (yes they do make it) and attached it to the wood frame.

Next I alumnium foiled the marble so it wouldn't get any fiberglass resin on it.

Now I make the foundation of the tapered port. I used wood dowels to form the structure.

Maybe now you can see where i'm going with this

Now I lay down the fiberglass mat

Pretty sweet but were you using the marble for some sort of audible purpose or just aesthetics? If it's the latter, can you even see it from the outside?

shot of the 45 deg corners cut to fit

Now I tape off the marble then resin coat the rest of the interior of the box

Lookn' good eh?

Well after putting the port sidewall on, she's ready to rock.

Time to add the sub, bastardized TC Sounds 4hp.

Now for the power

Termlab measurement proves it was a good box build.

Strength and laminar air flow only. You can't even see it from the outside

Ah, ok, that's kind of what I figured. Coming into this thread I was expecting a box made 100% out of marble, lol.

build the same box with doubled mdf with fiberglass and resin on it where you used marble.. see if results are the same? how much was the marble slab?

Do you realize the density difference of MDF vs Marble? Id' probably have to use 5-9 layers of MDF to compensate. The marble was shipped in from Norway and was $70 a square foot.
