Was going to buy this stuff. Good?

50 sqft R-BLOX Sound Deadener +Dynamat Sample : eBay Motors (item 270525453722 end time Feb-09-10 22:40:51 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270525453722&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT)
Do I need 50 sq. feet for a 2 door speaker install?

Better stuff for less?

Road Killer is better i think, seal 2 doors and if you have extra seal the rear dash or trunk.

50 sq feet is probably too much for two doors. I only used 20 or 30 on my front doors and that was probably overkill. Remember that you dont need 100% coverage. I dont know if that r-blox stuff is butyl based or asphault based, but at that price id be hesitant. Deadener is not something you want to go cheap on, or it can create a very big headache.

To control panel resonance you should use the best vibration damper you can find and only treat the 25% at the center of the panel. You won’t have to worry about asphalt melting or falling off and you won’t get black goo from cheap butyl compounds on your living room carpet.

So buy a high end product, just dont use more than you need to.

If you want to buy a deadener that will kill outside sound like traffic noise, get mass loaded vinyl and/or closed cell vinyl:
