Newegg.com - PNY XLR8 VCG98GTEE5XEB GeForce 9800 GT EE 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=n82e16814133279)

Would make a decent upgrade for someone with an older GPU. Could be a dedicated Physx card. Could put it in yout folding machine to keep costs of electricity down. I run it on a 350W PSU. I can max out most games with it, most notable would be Modern Warfare (Almost a constant 250FPS, dipping to about 120 with a lot of explosions at once.), can run Modern Warfare 2 with ease. I have the original box, receipt, and I believe the booklet. It will be shipped with it, or without it, your decision.

Looking to get $60 + shipping? Sounds reasonable. I paid $120 (IIRC) less than a year ago. Will also accept best offer, so offer up!

Bump! Would be willing to trade also, mainly for other PC parts. (PSU's, Hard Drives, CPU's anything of value to a computer these days.)

Yep, even with my old *** X2 5200+, it could play Crysis on high, and every other games with at least 30FPS.

Would you trade a ATI Radeon 3850? Or maybe a 3870?

Don't really need any other cards, I've got a 4850X2, 4870, and 2 GTX260's. Those will be for sale soon though.

Would this be any better then my MSI NX8600GTS? sorry My friend got me my card because i dont know computers like he does.

Yes, this is quite a bit better than the 8600GTS.

Graphics Performance List - Computer Forums (http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f76/graphics-performance-list-212331/) 9800GT is #27 on this list and the 8600GTS is #56.

Graphics Card Ranking (3rd time's a charm...) - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net (http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/270292-graphics-card-ranking-3rd-times-charm.html) 9800GT = #14 in the charts, and the 8600GTS = #44.

Yeah I have mine very slightly over clocked because for some reason I can't control the fan speed on this one=[ and im afraid it will get too hot. Im using rivatuner.

I believe, but don't quote me on this, that nvidia cards are safe up to 100C, at least newer generation cards are. This on never reached above 68C.

yeah this one is really sensitive for some reason. right now its at 48C and im just on the internet. If I play COD MW2 it goes all the way up to 62C and that scares me because I dont know much about computers so I dont know if thats normal or not. plus I don't know how old this card it. yours sounds like a nice investment though. Would you take any trades? do you have an Iphone?

I am open all trades, just needs to catch my eye. This would be a good bit better than the 8600GTS in MW2. I was running 120+ FPS with maximum settings on it.

You'll be fine. Graphics cards inherently run hotter than CPU's. Like BlackGA said, GFX cards are usually safe up to the 90-100C range, BUT the thing you want to look out for when overclocking your GFX card is artifacts. Just cuz it can get up to 100C doesn't mean it will work correctly. Best way to tell if you're getting artifacts? Run benchmarks, stress tests, and play lots of games for hours on end. If you see anything that shouldn't be there like funky colors, crazy shapes, random color pixels, or ANYTHING that just straight up looks messed up, your card is being pushed too far.

+1 on this being a good price. GLWS!

so there will be a point where I will actually be able to tell its being pushed too hard? and then I'll have time to turn it down? and OP you have a PM incoming

For the most part, yeah. It's harder to see the artifacts in games since you're actually playing and not looking for them. But there are lots of programs that are used specifically for that purpose. I suggest you head over to Overclockers Club (http://forums.overclockersclub.com/) and read up. I used to be a moderator over there and the forums holds lots of helpful info that I'm too lazy to type out right now :p:

Cleared. Sorry about that. There's several programs you can use to stress test your GPU. FurMark and OCCT are my favorite.

ok. so no matter what comp this goes in I will be able to remotely control the fan speed through a certain program right? i want that.

I don't understand what you mean by remotely, but if you mean manually, then yes. You should be able to use RivaTuner. I prefer EVGA Precision over RivaTuner for Nvidia cards. It has a MUCH better GUI.

So should I download EVGA Precision now and see if I can change my fan speed?
