View Full Version : how much do dowel rods affect displacement
Building a box and want to add wooden dowel pins to strengthen the box. How much do they affect displacement and how do you factor them into your calculation? I know it will be based on the size of the dowel but how do you add them to the formula

Uhh, calculate the volume displaced and subtract it from your box volume?
I understand that, but is there a way to figure how much volume they take up? Is there an easy way to caluculate their volume.

It's a cylinder man, not difficult

Geometry has worked well for hundreds of years....................try it.
