View Full Version : 2x4's work to take up space in box or something better?

My box for my 2512's is 4.5 @ 35hz and I want to experiment by taking up about about 1/2 cubic foot of space in the box which will get it at 4 @ 37.4hz

I'm guessing 2x4's will work but figured I'd ask

I want more of a punch and I'm just experimenting

I believe if I get the box down to 4 @ 37.4hz or maybe even less volume they will handle my 2200D better and it will have more of a punch and little less boom boom and hopefully hit harder.

Let me know what would work best to experiment with as this is not goin to be permanent unless I get it how I want it cause it sounds real good right now.

yeah, using 2x4's will work.

I did that with my old RE XXX15 box... well, I actualy just added some pretty dang good sized corner piece and a piece of PVC on the port end. Took up the space I wanted and was stuff that has been proven to help numbers as well so...

but yes, 2x4's would work just fine. I seen one guy literaly make a "box" to set inside his box to change the area/frequency... probably not the best idea though LOL

ya I might just put huge 45's in the corners and maybe I'll get better numbers. I've also been thinkin about cuttin my port down to tune it to like 50hz or something and making a port that slides into that one for daily. Been busy so don't know when I might get around to that.
