Its an s10 with very thin space behind the backseat. The sub that was in it was an Image Dynamics ID8. I'm going to build the box and try all the 8's I have and see which one I like. I'm guessing its going to be between the E8 or ID8.
Speakers are staying, MB Quart PCE 216, until I get my Adire comps i ordered.

I'm hoping that active will sound better than passive:confused:
The old: MB Quart 4200 amp, ID8.

The old out(along with the jack/wrench holder):

New stuff going in:

Hopefully everything fits, In my head everything does.
I'm planning on building the box tomorrow, I've ran the 4guage and grounds.
box will be roughly .6-7cu/ft tuned to 34-37hz still figuring that one out.

pushed it to its max. it's pretty powerfull if you ask me. compared to the JL audio e4300 i had before, its WAY better. and i paid less for this lol.

on that box i got really anxious and just wanted to hear it! lol
this new box will have a terminal, i'm going to take my time, maybe even finish off with something. All my boxes are MDF finish, it's cheaper that way

That long blue rca is not there anymore, i have made a fitting rca. I plan to spraypaint the box black in the future. I still have to try the ID8. This set-up is louder than my old set-up and sounds A LOT better.

i like it. im trying to build me a box for my single cab dime here pretty soon. i will be using 4 E8's. your build thread gives me a good idea and understanding of the space.

Gotta love single cab builds. I managed to fit 3ft^3 NET at 35hz for two 10's behind my seat lol.

Downsized to .6ft^3 NET at 32hz for 1 8"

Should be interesting on the difference of them.

nice man, how does it sound!?

compared to running the mb quart and passives:
The tweeters sound a lot more balanced, not as fatuiging, just all around better. the mid bass, i was able to turn down a bit on the higher mid around 200hz which helped because it peaked around there.
Overall, its louder, clearer, and the sub gets lower.

where are you located? Only thing i have planned is painting the box black ha. I'm going out to try my ID8 right now, a bit of testing. Also thinking about pre-ordering the sa8, i would have to cut out a hole and add fiberglass in oder to get 1" more of mounting depth.

I'm sure it won't be as loud, personally i would run 1 10, If i could i would. I think it would put less stress on the sub from running one 8. I'm sure it ill still dound goo though.

Can you fit a baffle on the front? It'd make it alot easier if you have the room.

nope, the seat almost hits the sub the way it is. My way should work, if not i would need to make a slanted box in order to make it fit better.

The reason i did this was to make the SA8 fit when i get it. But since its done, im going to be try the AA 8 out. Thinking about adding carpet too but i'm not sure what i need for that or where to buy the carpet...

You just need carpet and carpet glue. I can get it for you. Probably only need 1 yard. which is 6.50 and a can of glue i get for 3bucks. So just say ten bucks to carpet it:)

Got to wrapping it in carpet yesterday. I would say it looks better.
So i tried the AA 8 and it is noctiably louder than the e8, i didnt expect it to be that much louder. I messed with the eq a bit and got it to sound better than before. I think i am finished for now until i get my new 8" :)

yummy sub! lmk ima b bored next week if u wana build a new box lol

maybe you can help me build a small round baffle for the front of the sub out of mdf? i have mdf just no jig for my router:(
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n291/beetle123/DSC01370.jpg

I want to build it to fit where the rubber gasket would fit, between the basket and outter part of the surround. I know it sounds really weird but it would keep the seat from touching the sub. had to increase the front baffle by 1/4" and ended up with another problem:(
But on the bright side, the sub sounds really good:)
