The office ladies at my work use those dells and they **** ***. I put an extra 1gb stick of ram in all of them but theyre still real slow doing anything. They use pc3200.
I was wrong, they use the dimension 3000

just about all ddr2 will work in a newer machine, most of the time with ddr/ddr2 if it fits it works. if your bus is only 533 and its 800mhz then it becomes 533 but itl still work.
crucial is decent ram, too bad you dont have another matching stick for dual channel

Might have malware download this and run it. Virus protection does not protect you against this stuff.

Much better and they dont try to sell you anything. Made by microsoft and completely free. it catches more crap than the kaspersky i run on the pcs at work
Defrag, Disk clean up and , CHKDSK are also great helpers built into the OS.
PS virus protection/ malware protection are the same. malware is a blanket term. the companies throw out malware, spyware, virus, worm, etc to scare the **** out of you and confuse you into buying products. I can explain in detail about each if you really want. ram will help you get the computer running fast enough to fix it but it wont fix your problem.
PM for tech class lol
