threads worded in a vertical line

I just signed up here but everytime I try to read a thread the darn words are in a vertical line. It's very frustrating and the only way to read the things without getting a headache is to switch the thread to printable mode. Any help?

The message boarders are too narrow.

I have the same problem, and it drives me crazy.
