Honestly, I'll probably hang onto mine too. The only real advantage to the P99RS over my 800 is it offers 4 way active, which I'm sure I'll be perfectly content with my 3 way once I switch over hopefully sometime soon. The P99RS also offers 4 24 bit DACs. I believe everything else is pretty much the same. You may get some extra slope control for the crossovers as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

:wow:
I agree with the previous poster, can't see myself paying over a grand for a CD h/u.

This is the big one for me. I'm hoping it will be comparable to the benefits running outboard DA's but without the hassle of optical lines and extra boxes to hide.

Any word about the clock (jitter)?

I wouldn't call it JUST a headunit...

The two knobs makes it look like an AM/FM OEM radio from the 70's.

The guys on DIYMA say the sound quality on this deck blows away the 800/880PRS. Sounds like you get what you pay for.

I like the fact that the super high end decks look sleek, and not too fancy. Plus more people don't think its anything special.

I love the looks and 4 24bit dac's I think its gonna be a truly amazing deck

I believe the clock is a standard clock. The only CD player I can think of with overclocking is the Clarion 9255 with it's 96 kHz clock.

Anyone who says the deck isn't worth it etc is retarded. This should be one of the top decks out there, up there with the Clarion DRZ9255 with more features. If I had money and didn't have my DSP6 I would seriously consider this HU.

I wish I could afford something like this. Pioneer has this whole new Stage 4 lineup and this HU is part of it. They offer some PRS line speakers, which look like black versions of the older PRS speakers and the addition of a 3 way component set as well. This is mainstream audio done correctly.

EDIT: There's no 3 way set. You have to purchase the TS-S062PRS speakers separately.

This deck is worth every penny and then some. It's been out for a while in Europe and gets great reviews there.

Well, I haven't heard the P99RS, but I'm sure there's no comparison based on reviews I've read. Then again, reading reviews isn't always the best way to judge something either. I'm sure it's better though. It's got way more features and 4 24 bit DACs.

It would look much better if they made a double din version? I need the big touch screen to get through my 120gb Ipod. I've had good sq single dins and it drove me crazy trying to get through my ipod. I guess you SQ Experts don't care anyway because most of yall will use cd's.
