Particularly the VIR-8011NT and the VIR-7022NR

I want a 7" screen but i need a Flip Down, the 8011 is a flip down but its oversized so im trying to figure out how it'll fit in the dash and i cant find any side pictures of the 7022 to see how it works, it says removable faceplate so i guess the screen can be removed but i need to figure out if the screen goes up or hangs down.

but im not on much

You mean power aukistic headunits?

Whether they are made by them or not, i am talking about these 2 units which are marketed under the Sound Stream name, i know Sound Stream makes pretty good stuff from experience but the issue in my truck limits my options greatly.

i would honestly steer clear of the ss units man i have had a ton of returns on them i am getting ready to drop them entirely in fact i have over a 50% return rate with them.

the valor decks are better all around if you are looking at a budget 7" deck.

The budget part isnt the extreme issue.

The major issue is that i need flip DOWN. because i dont want to get into the immense amount of time and work to modify my dash to get a flip up to work.

Anyone know of any other companies that make a flip down?

i agree with him on that ,they take for ever to load any media unless its a regular CD basic eq , skips bad . i personal had 3 units fail with in 2 weeks

i'm impressed with the jvc avx1. had it for a few years and never heard it skip yet. the 2 volt preouts on the sub channel ****, but the new decks are 5 volt. only a 3.5 inch screen, but it has good features and the avx 1 has taken a beating. i'm ordering the avx44 next week. it is useless for movies though. i use it for mp3's on dvd with a menu. ipod. sirius sattelite radio. 7 band eq is okay also.

I had a SS VIR hu, and it broke 2 minutes after I put it in.

I want a 7" screen though. SS cant be the only people to make a flip down or a screen that hangs down from the unit.

the vir are the worst the 7200 all came back everyone of them did 100% failure rate on over 350 units lolz

you could just do a 2nd screen and remote mount it :)

i looked a few years back. not that there isn't one, but all i found were pyle decks, and other internet brands. i think they were 5 inch screens. since a flip up covers the vents in my s10, i settled for the jvc. like i said though. there might be a reputable brand. it's hard to believe that pyle came up with something original without someone else doing it first.

:fyi:pyle and pyramid make about 75% of all the sub baskets on the planet

and at 1 point both companies were actually good quality on their audio line stuff.

Ive played with a pyle flip out and it was teh ****. it was about 3 years old so i guess it was lasting ok lol.

i had some pyle drivers a decade ago that were decent.

the one i played with had no better features than some tape decks. the eq was the always great "bass" "treble" adjustment, and it couldn't even do that well. it was a touch screen though:cool:

but alpine does it right. pyle's seems to slope any garbage they can into the signal. i'm not an expert on head units, but it didn't improve sound over the stock head unit, it just got louder.

Sad to say most of the SS units are trash. I wish they never would have released DVD/Video under the Soundstream name, or would have made some nicer Soundstream only units. They are oem'd by this company.

Are you recomending EONON or saying stay away from it all. I knew with SS you would have to come here, i was counting on it.

If you are getting it from vminnovations on ebay id say go for it. They are referbs and have a better chance of working, If they work they are not bad for the money, its getting them in working order to begin with thats the issue. vminnovations has great costumer service and if you have any issues within 90 days would replace or refund your money. I was not recommending the enonon stuff, just saying thats the company that makes the SS, PA, Farenheit and SPL video products for Epsilon.

Ive actaully dealt with VMInnovations before, i was just going to buy the cheapest i could find with a warranty. I bought a 2610 from VM and it arrived DOA and they helped out great. Refunded all my money and all.
