Im at my parents place for christmas, so im using up some of the scrap wood i had left here (you'll notice that the flush panel is MDF, where the rest of the box is not). There should be a few more box build logs after this one later on.

This box is for my girlfriends ford escape. its 1.2 cu ft @ 30hz, and will be for two sundown e-8's powered by a kenwood amp. I dont remember which model, but its rated for 500 rms @ 2, so it'll be more than enough.

The girlfriend bought me some jasper jigs before break :D so i put them to use for this build.

Here's the pics thus far:

After its build, i'll be painting the port/flushed space between the subs red (school colors), and the rest of the box will be white (to match her SUV)

Hmm, Makes me want to get a few 8" drivers.

they are some of my favorites to play with. Nothing like doing a build for a pair of 8's and have it be louder/sound better than everyone elses pairs of 12's ;)

Nice and clean.

I got a Jasper Jig. After 4 10" circles, the plastic around the bolts cracked. Gotta to send back to PE and they are going to warranty it for me.

pulled the painters tape up, and it brought some of the white spray paint with it off of the top of the box :(

Its still in the 30's outside, so its probably having curing issues.

Gonna let it harden up the rest of the day, then i'll sand the bad spots smooth and repaint the top.

with the circle cutting jig, you can make a perfect circle cut around a center point.

In one of my pictures, you can see my router with one of the circle jigs attached to the bottom of it.

The paint still hasnt seemed to dry all the way through yet. Here are some pictures i took though.

Primer on:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s42/Supergumby5000/SDC10231.jpg

Preppin up and putting the red paint in the flush baffle:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s42/Supergumby5000/SDC10233.jpg

And the aftermath of the painters tape/me starting to pick it all off. even some of the primer was coming off, so it looks like i'll really have to take my time with painting:round 2, to make sure everything cures properly:

took me three days to paint the box I just built. Let every coat dry for almost a day. Temps are about the same here as they are there.

craftmanship FTMF'ingW

I could sure use a sealed piece of art (not just 6 peices of wood slapped together) for 1 12', I need about 1cf after displacement for a Polk sr dvc.

MORE PICS MAN!!

p.s. can you build me one too.... PLZ

That box looks a lot better than mine for my e8's. looks like almost the same dimensions too. Mines 1.25^3 feet though, tuned to 31hz. I had to fit mine behind the seat of a dakota. I'm gonna throw some of those new sa-8's in there though once jacob get'sem. My e8's tinsel lead got screwed up. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished though!
