Sounds good, now you just need a little more power on your full range and finish tuning, seems like a good start. It will be fun to compete this coming season

Very nice but maybe you should have folded down the seats to show the box.

What's the cheapest way to water proof Mdf??

SoundWave.Co
12-21-2009, 06:05 PM
probably fiberglass resin. and you might be able to run new stuff, I am open to offers.

KHARPS
12-21-2009, 06:09 PM
What's the cheapest way to water proof Mdf??

Go up to Pep Boys or whatever store is around you and pick up some fiberglass resin. Cut a gallon jug in half and pour some in there. Pour some hardener in it and mix it with a paint stick. Apply it to the box with a paint roller. Let it dry and you're good to go. It will stink up your truck for a few weeks though haha.

sparkplug121988
12-21-2009, 06:14 PM
I know I can use resin. But Ima need lots of it....any other stuff I can use??

KHARPS
12-21-2009, 06:17 PM
Oh are you not putting a cover over the bed at all? Not even a soft cover?

jmanpc
12-21-2009, 06:22 PM
You ought to just do a spray-on bedliner for your whole bed. Cover the box as well, and it will look like a part of the truck :)

sparkplug121988
12-21-2009, 06:28 PM
I won't be putting a cover on it atm. And getting the bed sprayed is 400.00. No way in doing that anytime soon so just need to water proof it till the bed cover. I guess I'll just get dome resin...

KHARPS
12-21-2009, 06:39 PM
I use a soft cover tonneau and it keeps all the water out. I had to silicone the part where the cover attaches to the bed under the rear window though. But it keep my box from getting wet just fine.

DonH
12-21-2009, 06:42 PM
why half *** the job? cover the **** box in something. go to autozone get the roll on cans of bedliner. clean ur bed and start! there like $16 a can iirc. get like 8 of them and be done!

rollinonD's
12-21-2009, 06:43 PM
I'd use the spray on rubberized undercoating that rustoleum makes.

streetacrx
12-21-2009, 11:15 PM
take the box to you local rhino liner dealer and they should spray the box for around 50- 75 dollars and that will do it for you.

Blow through boxes look awesome after being rhino lined and it really keeps them dry.

Here is my box. i think it was like 100 bucks to get sprayed and i have had it for about 3 years and no leaks. Definitely a great investment. Have them spray the inside of the box too. it looks sick.

No need to eat the wheel lol.. The box I have in their now is I wanna say 15.5h x 42.5w x 27.5d made out of bouble 1/2" mdf port is 100sq inches.... This is my daily set up will also be building a box for burps. Then its will be time to finish my blazer. These little s10s get loud as hell with such a small cab. Just the two 10s that are in their now move tons of air!

mybrohshi5
01-12-2010, 02:44 PM
It a 98 toyota T100.

http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv261/mybrohshi5/1-Exterior.jpg

It sounds awesome for 4 12s. Because the limited space and wheel wells the box designer designed the ports to be 4 triangular ports between the 1st and 2nd sub and 3rd and 4th sub so it pounds pretty good for the not too expensive P3 subs.

in a couple months i wanna add 2 more 12s though and build a new box to try to raise my spl but i havent had any luck on finding someone to design me a box (for free that is haha).

2 solo x's are gonna slam if you feed them the right amount of power thats for sure. excited to see how it turns out :D

Haha thats funny. Yeah i will hopefully have my truck done and be at all the comps i can.

Are you any good and designing boxes or do you know anyone who is good at it. i want to build a new box for my truck. i want to do 6 rockford p3 12s instead of 4. i have no box designing experience though and didnt really wanna pay for a design haha. tight budget.

I could help ya out. what kind of truck and power?

mybrohshi5
01-13-2010, 02:09 AM
Its a 98 toyota t100. I have a 220 amp alt, a yellow top, i will have 2 t10001 for the subs and 2 t4004 for the speakers ( as of right now i only have one of each of those but will be buying the other two as soon as i get some cash ).

i fly back to arizona in 2 days so i will measure my truck and get the exact dimension of what we can work with. I wanna be able to get in the 150s at least. you think thats possible?

heres my current box. its about 10 cf so i figured the new box could be around 12-14 cf.

http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv261/mybrohshi5/100_12001.jpg

what kind of box design would you do for 6 12s in a blow through? like 3 subs on each side or more of a V design or what?

sparkplug121988
01-13-2010, 02:23 AM

Unless i missed it somewhere else on here, after watching that last videos of yours and seeing the cab flex a crap ton, put about 8 or 10 tennis balls between the cab and the bed. This will eliminate almost all rear cab flex, and look pretty cool after you put them in. I put 20 behind a rangers cab (2 18's walled doing high 49's low 50's) and worked like a charm..
