Ok so its a little slow around the shop and i need a new "business card" so i figured i would start workin on the blazer.

So far i have bagged it with re slams all around,2-link panhard,nitrogen/air,1/2 in. valves,20" Centerlines,2-Tone paint Pure white pearl on bottom and magical blue up top,blah,blah.....now to the good stuff.....

Deck: PRS880
Comp amps:2 DDc4a
Comps:2-sets DD6.5comps
MidBass:2-DD6.5
Sub amp:1-Stetsom 14k2d!!!
Subs:2-9518's carbon option

Im gonna glass the doors with 1-set of the comps and the 6.5 mb's and then build some kicks for the other set of comps.

back seat is coming out and im walling off the back, wasnt going to do this but with the batteries, amps and all my airbag stuff a wall is really my only option.

Isnapped a few pics of the truck i had to do it inside cuz the weather is crappy so post up and let me know what you think.

+1 For More Blazer pics!!!!

Did you make the 2 Link? What kind of notch did you do on the back frame rails??? Pics fo those???

Lastly, did you cut out the floor much???

My 2K Blazer on 20s rides like dik!!!!

Its not bagged, just static dropped

Front
3" Belltech Drop Spindles
3" Belltech Drop Coils
Nirto R Drop Shocks

Rear
3 or 4" Drop leafs
3 or 4" Angled Drop Blocks
Nitro R Drop Shocks
Cut the Bump stops and brackets off the frame... Looks like I got about 1/2" of travel between the frame and axle... Needs a notchin or something bad... I sure if I drove it more, I would find someone trust worthy to get to cuttin on it...

12-18-2009, 07:56 PM
Well the problem is that we blazers owners have to deal with crooked frame rails, the rear frome on our trucks twist so its a pain in the *** to make your own order a set and weld them in. you atleast need a mini notch to clear the rear diff. you have a rought ride because your bottoming out in the rear.

well here are some more pics took them today the next set of pics will be of disassembly!!!

They make a Notch, but when I inquired about it working on a 2000 2Dr they could not guarentee it...

The gmc badge comes off the gmc envoy front end wich is off my S10 BLAZER! if your not involved in the mini truck world you probably wouldnt understand. the gmc envoy front ends look much better than the blazer front end,its like takin a chevy or a gmc and putting an escalade front clip on.

I meant no disrespect, man. I really do think it's a very good looking ride. Personal taste and nitpicking are going to come into play whenever someone posts vehicle pics, and my only complaints are the lack of a roll pan and dingy plastic.

A really good friend of mine has a project truck under construction that you'd probably be interested in. It's far from finished, but the mods are extensive. I'll see if he has any pics on his myspace...

Ok so tonight i decided to hit it pretty hard. i cut all the plastics out of the rear, stripped everything down, cleaned it and got the first 3 layers of deadener on,in the front i got the tweeter pods put in the dash, installed the midbass in the doors and ran all the wire, also installed the prs880 so basically the front is done as soon as i get the kick panels done and installed.

i took some pics but way to tired to post them up tonight.....

Tomorrow i am going to start the wall frame and box hope to get it mostly finished tomorrow and start on the battery rack.

**** subs. How much extra are the colored caps?

nutnbutcustm
12-30-2009, 01:13 AM
I dont think this setup is gonna be loud enough to be competetive so im already planning a rebuild, lol im gonna rebuild the wall and go with 6-DD Z12's and 3-Stetsom 14k2d's im gonna run in street beat 5. it will be a total rebuild for the sub section this is a lineup of the new stuff

1-PRS880
4-Sets DD comps.
2-DD C4a's
6-DD Z12's
3-Stetsom 14k2d's
9-Batcap 4000's
3-300 amp iraggi's
18 cubes after port

The blue caps on my 9518's match the paint so well im gonna do full cone and cap in the blue to match. might go ahead and powder coat the C4a's to match also. this will all come after the first few shows of the season.

so anyone have any guesses on what numbers im gonna do with the 2-18's?

nutnbutcustm
12-30-2009, 01:17 AM
to be honest with you i dont really know off hand, they were gonna charge extra for the "dry" look but i think they are the same price as the regular caps. ive never ordered color caps for customers only for myself so ive never payed attention to the price.

but i ordered this one a while back its the light blue wet look

the average is about 156 so i guess we will see. if its not atleast 155 legal im gonna rip the ish back out and just order the Z's and call it a day,im thinking the 6-Z's and the 3-14k2d's i should be in the mid to low 160's legal on the glass

also just for shits and giggles i built a 8x8 port to compete in port wars to,lol

problem #1 the stetsom is putting some crazy noise into my system only when the rca is plugged in,when the amp is on but the rca is unplugged no noise clean as a whistle but plug the rca in and bam noisy as $hit!!

problem#2 ive never posted a video before any body got any pointers?

yeah ive tried all the tricks, ground, isolator. the amp is just really noisy but it should quiet down alot after i get the wall trimmed out and get the baxck isolated from the back ive noticed some flex on the box so i guess 2 layers of 3/4 mdf and a layer of 2x4's isnt enough! guess i will go back in with another layer of 2x4's! that will make everything except the front 5.5" thick!!!

Everything is working very well so i will start building the trim panels and doing the glass tub in the rear tomorrow, then i will get the kickpanels done and then its to the doors i have decided to glass each door with 3-DD 5 1/4 german mids and 3-german tweets, then a DD 6 1/2 midbass in each kick and another set of german tweets in the fiberglass pods in the dash there is just way to much bass for only the comps i have in there now and when i change to the 6-Z12's i know im gonna need some more vocals.

i can actually hear the difference now with the extra bracing, its rediculous. i will keep trying to figure how to post vids.......more update pics tomorrow.

no room under the hood, with dual 300amp iraggi's and definately keeping the A/C for the hot texas summers, its not daily driven but its not trailered to shows unless they are over 2 hours or so away.

yeah take a peek inside these things are a work of art inside the case, but i definately agree it would be nicer to have atleast 2 sets,4 would even be better! but i have had no problems so far.

wish I could send you my truck... there is really no room behind my rear seats.. just ordered 2 DD T1508s and PWK designed me a box for my double cab tacoma.... but I would really like more than 2 8s...

Thats were Fiberglass comes into play!!! But Pete's box designs are second to none. he is a box designing genius. yeah 4 8's would slam i put 4-1508's on a z1 in a tahoe in a 3.7cube box tuned to 39hz and it does 152's all day long!!! those 8's are nasty if they are put to good use and dont be afraid to throw some power at them.

both will be powered off a sundown saz 1000d so they will be seeing around 500+ each.. would like to find a used m1a to throw at them... it's actually 2 boxes... each is .9 cubes tuned to 38 Hz... any guesstimations on #s I might see with a TL?

i'm also running the DDC 6.5 components actively off a sundown 50.4.. I feel like the actual 6.5 mids are lacking.. maybe I don't have enough power to them?? maybe I should play with the tuning on the sundown amp some more?

so technically I have a pair of DDMB 6.5s and DDT28s

im using those as midbass and i love them. the sundown in my opinion is better for you than the m1 unless you get the new version. i would stick with the sundown but that 50.4 isnt gonna do those comps any justice. get your hands on a DD C4a 120x4 and super clean.

numbers? hard to say i dont have any experience with the those yota's except i built a wall in one with 10-10's but thats not really a comparison, lol.

lol, I don't really have much room to work with, the amp has to go under the driver side front seat:crap:

the mid bass gets really good at high volume levels though, I can actually feel the air they are pushing on my legs... but at lower volumes they are not quite there..

I looked at your build log and IMO you had enough room for 3 or 4 1508t's wich are the thin mount 1508's.

But 4-1508t's and an m3 wouldve given you some impressive numbers, but just the 2 1508's you have should still give you some very nice low end and your box looks really good.

yes i got very lucky. if you were closer i could help you out with my old parts,im putting new headlights and a cowl hood on it.

I may stay with my '98 front, not sure.. I'd like to go with a 2" cowl hood and a Sonoma front though.

ok here are a few pics of some of the trim the sides and top are done and covered the amp rack and bottom trim are not finished yet i will work on those this weekend i need to get my kicks done :/

the trim is covered in black suede and i have dark grey for the box itself so around the port and woofers where you see wood will be a dark grey suede i am also redoing the seats in a black leather with grey suede insert and the door panels are gonna be black leather and grey suede also. let me know what you guys think about the suede,

sorry tried to flip this one but it wouldnt save.
not sure what im gonna do inside the port yet, prolly some smooth bedliner in blue to match the woofers on the entire inside of the box? i think it would look good against the black and grey.

Well looks like ca.com finally did some updating!! can the mods please delete all of my multiple posts? anyway ive got some new stuff done to the blazer

here are the new a-pillars i decided i needed to close up all the holes in the dash so i removed the pods from the stock locations in the dash and put the DD tweets in the a-pillars,then fiberglassed the stock speaker grilles and then covered them.also took out the defrost vent and glassed it and put a DD logo before covering it. everything was covered in black suede.

I basically took the flush mount kit from the tweets and epoxied the front trim ring to the a-pillar then molded up to it with some kitty hair and sanded the contour then cut out the hole and sanded the inside of the tweeter trim ring to allow for the tweeter and the suede then just mounted the tweet from behind with the factory cup.

just curious, when is the rear roll pan going in? also IIRC your amp is vibrating on the back of that box. towards the end of the video look at the amp. the box is flexing the amp off the box.

and like 90% of your pics say that they have been moved....

I dont know what to say about the pics being moved it has to be a problem with photobucket or CA.com the roll pan and step shavers will be one of the last things done, that will happen when im done working on the truck just in case any paint needs touched up so it can all be done at the same time.

And thats not the amp rattling in the video it was my nitrogen bottle,i had just unbolted it to work on the air suspension and i promise you there is no box flex with 2-layers of 3/4 mdf and 2-layers of 2x4's it has to be a camera flaw.

But thanks for all the concern:veryhapp:
