Thinking of doing something different that a regular ported box so I'm down to these two. I've already done a bunch of reading on each of these but dunno which one I wanna go with. I've never really heard either of these in person except for the cheap prefab 4th order. Obviously, I want this to be loud and low but don't know which direction to go. It's an 03/04 model, I have the power and a good amount of room for it, so if you have experience with either of these enclosures and/or sub, please chime in. Thanks guys

I would say 4th order. Bandpasses are a bit tricky as is and 6th orders are even far worse. Plus, the XXX would get crazy low in a 4th order.

Is this a RE XXX or a Soundstream XXX? If the former, don't disgrace it by putting it in a bandpass. It has that super flat magnitude response for a reason, so you should probably take advantage of it. Otherwise, there are better speakers for the application.

Yea, my bad. 03/04 RE XXX:crap::crap::crap::crap::crap: DEFINITELY not. Don't even think about putting that in a bandpass. I was thinking it was an 06+, but that's even worse to put one of the original XBL^2 speakers in a BP. You're taking a speaker with some of the cleanest, most linear output and putting it in an enclosure that limits what it can do best: sound perfectly clean no matter what the frequency is and have ultra low distortion while doing it. While the BP will certainly be louder, yes, I would have gotten a SX or MT or something else that isn't so SQ oriented like the XXX is.
