Newbie Box Diagram

So I've recently decided to get a sub and amp. I've decided on a S15L7 dual 4 ohm. Now i've run into a problem. From what Ive read about this bad boys is that you need to ported and you need to go big. BUT, all the ported boxes for the l7 3 cubic feet. From what I've been readin that is not the optimal size, that it should be bigger. Anyway, I've tried to design a box in a graphics program. I don't the the first thingg when it comes to car audio, let alone fabrication of a subwoofer box. Remember this is my very first try at a design, constructive comments only please. How deep is it? Your port is roughly 12.35" correct?

I know the 12L7 likes about 3-4 cubes, maybe try 5.5-6 cubes for the 15,maybe even 6.5-7.

You are going to brace the box correct?

Ok so due to my guess of room in my hatch I had to redisgn it. It is now 21" deep. I do plan on bracing the box, I just have n ot drawn it. Here is version 0.2 of my box. Thanks for you time!
